Thank you Jeremy, for visiting the thrift store and making us feel included in Saturday's plans.  There will be a cupcake with your name on it waiting for you on Saturday!

You're welcome! Glad that you guys are participating. I'll be sure to stop by for my cupcake.

I just talked to Prudential Network Realty about the new houses in Springfield it sounds like the builder is building historically accurate house that will be close to what the original style was like at the turn of the century.

Here is an idea why don't we make a miniature version of the 1888 Sub-Tropical Exposition in a local park Something like a 1/4 scale version. I could be like a tavern on the green (I know the one in new york is now out of buisness)

This is a great idea, and one I hope Springfield will someday incorporate into its own heritage museum. Some conversations have been had b/w SPAR and SHEC re: a museum on Main, but these have not gone far yet due to time/funding resources (same song, different great idea). If you'd like to participate in moving a museum forward, be sure to contact SPAR or SHEC and volunteer to help!

Miss Fixit

What is the contact info for SHEC?  That's a project I'd love to be involved with....

Chris Farley & Rita Regan are heading it up, I believe. Think you can get Chris's # through Spar....

Does anyone know if any of the local collages have an archeology course maybe they could do a dig in Springfield. How about the Spanish American war staging area or the civil war stables.

Hypocrite

I think I can see Stephen Dare grinning ear to ear right now.

During the presentation portion of Celebrate Springfield last weekend, Bill Cesery said that he's been approach by a couple developers about building on Main Street.

He also mentioned how a Redell Street project was being seriously considered again.

Jim Burkhart, President of Shands Jacksonville, mentioned that they are considering developing a hotel near Shands as well, somewhere near the Walgreens I believe.
