We had some very strange thing happen while we where restoring our house. The spirits are ether happy with what we did to the house or they have moved on.

It is said the most haunted house in Springfield is Tom Minette's at 2nd and Laura, the Pink Palace.  A ghost tour becomes just a house tour, since our ghosts do not appear on demand, though SPAR did set up a haunted house one year.  It was very successful but the fire dept. shut them down.  Maybe instead of a tour Tom Minette would allow a group of people to camp out in his house, for one night,  it is certainly  big enough and then maybe  you would see what you would  see. It could be done as a fund raiser for a good cause, maybe Oasis.

The seating in Uptown Market will be rearranged to accomodate more patrons. There have been waits for lunch now, which is very good sign.

"New developer comming to Springfield

I hope he will build some queen ann style houses"

- yea, i think Market & E. 4th are going to be 2 of his first houses.....

No, not really.  Pure speculation on my part, but SRG may have some extra lots to sell to another builder.  Happens all the time.  I just hope the houses look different so we have more variety.

Fusion now serving lunch! On Pearl just north of 8th.

None of the above. I happened to stop in the SPAR office while the builder and Realtor were there talking to Louise. It was the first time I had met either one of them. During the conversation he stated that he had built in Atlanta before comng to Jax. I asked him if he knew Mack and he said no but when I told him the name of SRG's co. in ATL he said that he had built near one of their developments. This new builder is bringing 3 houses in front of the HPC this month for approval. I asked where the lots were and they told me. Before you guys get the whole conspiracy theory going, none of the three lots belonged to SRG. The new builders plans are very nice. Similiar to SRG but still different. The plans showed very nice detail. The details will be heard at HPC so if anyone is interested they should attend the hearing. I am glad that others want to build in Springfield, it allows for more homes to be built at one time and helps the revitalization move faster. Strider built two new homes that were beautiful and another builder is in the process of building his second home along with ONH's new construction. In the past I will admit I was wrried about ONH but the homes they built turned ut nicely. Sooo, the more the merrier.

Oh, I think I missed the point Stephen. The builder from N. Carolina that has been talking to SRG was referred here by someone else. They have been building very expensive, architecturally detailed homes that are hard to find buyers for and get financed in this market so they were looking to branch out. Builders build, it's what they do, so when their market changes they work to find a way to keep building. That guy has shown an interest in moving here and building in the neighbrhood but nothing concrete yet. Again, I think it would be great for Springfield. I think many builders are seeing that continued suburban sprawl is not going to work right now and are starting to focus on infill.

Springfield Girl

Sorry, I only met them once, I believe it is S. Carolina
