Restaurant, coffee group coming to Murray Hill commercial district

This should become a huge boost for Edgewood Avenue. Possibly two restaurants and a coffee house going in directly across the street from Moon River Pizza.

A new dining option is coming to Murray Hill's commercial district.
A group of investors led by Pine Street/RPS LLC acquired 1171 Edgewood Ave. — across the street from Moon River Pizza — for $330,000 at the end of July and has already leased most of the space, principal Stanton Hudmon said.

Cool.  What's going on with the old Fat Kat?  I thought I heard a while back that something was going on there.  I know I've seen people going in on the weekends so it looks like its open.

Long term, if you could get a transportation setup that connected King St, the shops on Edgewood, and the Shoppes of Avondale it could be a real money maker.

This. I'd kill for an Indian restaurant in the core that actually served regularly & stayed open. Unbelievable that this still isnt a reality in 2013.

Also, more coffee options are always good. Murray Hill def could use it. I like the Fringe & they have decent food products, but their coffee is terrible.

New Murray Hill restaurant will target 'foodies and beer snobs'

The theme of the restaurant, Michael Foster said Wednesday, is local: As many locally sourced ingredients as possible, local art and local music. It will cater to the tastes of the neighborhood, which Foster summed up as "foodies and beer snobs."

1171 Grill will also offer gluten-free and vegan options.

I know Pine Street Partners and Stanton Hudmon, he is actually one of the Good Ol Boy Network here in Jax, longtime resident. I hope the Westside Neck can suck it up and stand a member of the GOB actually doing good, we shall see, or stay in Moon River and eat that crap!

Pine Street Partners owns the complex where Brian Miller and Bold City Beer operate, so they are good at spying opportunity and do well when they have the right set of circumstances. They have been sniffing around the property for many months. Will be good to see something in those shops as well.

Nice to see progress, but every restaurant has a huge opening and then a blowoff and it is after the first month or two that we shall see if they will really make it. So far, everything PSP has touched has been golden. This should be great for my real estate in Murray Hill.

Bold Bean to open Murray Hill roasting facility

The new roasting facility will include a small storefront space, where Bold Bean will host weekly cuppings, special events and sell speciality retail.

There's tons of parking in the Jones College lot that's right around the corner.  There's a paved (15 spaces) and grass lot (40 spaces ?) and also street parking down Plymouth and on Talbot. 

Don't forget the Convenience store lot.  Parking in front of Hope Jewelers (after 6pm) and the Service station.

It's quite similar to the situation in Avondale with regards to not being able to park 30 cars by the front door.  It's quite different because the amount of commercial property that shuts down at 5-6pm, there's a lack of residential in the immediate area and there are already available yet mostly unused parking nearby.
