Does anyone notice a HUGE difference this offseason, than last year. Last year was riddle with issues; MJD hold out, Pot Roast club incident, Blackmon DUI. Then the Tebow trade and the punter in the 3rd round. It was riddled with Chaos, distractions, and constant Jaguar jokes in the media that carried over into the season. For the first time in forever, there is a positive vibe over this franchise. I am very grateful for everything the curly haired, mustache man has done for this franchise and city.

Spoke too soon.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

"It's unclear how Blackmon violated the policy, which remains confidential. It takes repeat offenses to incur a suspension."   >:(

I really wish professional sports would move away from suspensions, and just bring down the hammer via heavy fines.

ESPN has reported that it's substance abuse, not a PED violation, so whatever he tested positive for has no effect on the actual game.

Keeping Blackmon off the field for four games punishes the season ticket holders far more than it punishes the player.

It's ridiculous, and will be a crushing blow to the entire offense.

Fine him $250,000 for all I care, but keep the guy on the field and let the 62,000 ticket buyers have a complete offense to watch.

Reminds me of the debacle in 2004 when Jacksonville hosted the US Men's Basketball team's only domestic game, and Larry Brown benched Allen Iverson, Lebron James, and Amare Stoudemire for showing up late to a pre-game meeting. Just a massive slap to the face of ticket buyers.

Handle your bullshit internally and leave the customers out of it.

Fuckin dumb ass idiot. WTH!! And this is the exact time he got arrested last year!! IF we didnt have Shorts on the roster I would be crushed right now. Luckily we have Shorts, Shipley, ACE, Robinson and the others. I think we have 9 on contract at the moment. Lord is he dumb. Just plain stupid. Everything was going so good. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH >:( :'( >:( :'(

Maybe that's why they also picked up Massaquoi....sux.

*It's not yet clear as to this is directly related to last year's incident - did the NFL really just drag their feet this long to impose a penalty?  Surely not...

Multiple violations, according to the press conference

What an idiot. With all of this off season momentum, Blackmon had to bring it to a screeching halt. Way to go #14!!! ::) :-[

Wasn't this guy a rookie last year?  He's already run up multiple violations to warrant a suspension before season two? Totally insane and blowing an opportunity to take advantage of physical talents most don't have.

Blackmon is so ungrateful. Hes was a first round pick with the talent to be the face of the franchise. I was already having a bad day, when I read this I was done. As I read online, the team probably already had notice that the violation occurred and could be why they Sanders and Robinson. It will be interesting to see what happends. At this point, they cut him and not owe him any guarantee money. To be honest, I wasnt too high on him as a player anyways. I see Shorts as a big play makers than him, so whatever. The Jags will be fine, not to sure about Blackmon though.

But its kinda sad, this kid needs help. He needs to be in counseling. We could easily cut him and move on, but from the human perspective, he needs some serious help and cutting him may only heighten the issue. I hope this kid turns around.

A lot of people are not liking the move that we made in the front office. Making Chris Polian (former Indy general manager) a Jags Scouting Director (one of Caldwell's top lieutenants). Ultimately Caldwell is still under control, so I'm not too worried. I can see if Polian was the GM, then that would be time to panic, as there's a big difference in authority between a scouting director, and a GM.

Yeah ultimately the GM makes all the decision so this doesnt bother me. Look at Gene Smith. He was in our scouting department and also had a high position in the scouting department during some of our best years, he just was't a good GM. As long as Caldwell continues to make good decision, we are in good hands. What weird to me is, that him and his father are known for "destroying the Colts" But under both of them they the team made two superbowls and made the playoffs every single year. What is also weird that Polian was hired by the Falcons as a scout last season, and everything was quiet. We hire him and he's going to ruin our franchise? Its sad to say, but people want the worse for us, and thats something that may never change.

Quote from Cole Pepper:

QuoteMany of you have heard rumors. Here's the deal. The Jaguars have decided to to change things up on the radio broadcast, so they're not bringing me back for 2013. I have nothing but the highest regard for the guys I worked with for most of the last 16 seasons. I'm not sure what is next for me, but I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds. Thanks for all of your support!

No stone unturned......Sexton next?

I will be happy if Mark Scott can make the practice team.  Expecting anything else is probably a little unfair.  I think Pryor makes the team as an UDFA.

Dont counts the others out Megatron. Im actually going through player by player and some of these are beasts. There were be several to make the team. From what Ive seen some of these guys were big time playmakers in college. If that translate to the NFL, were in business. But to your point, Pryor will make the team. its ironic Greg Jones went to FSU and so did Pryor.

Eh, I would not call them beasts.  There are reasons that they are UDFAs.
