More Crime in Riverside

That is great news this idiot has been caught.

Re: Avondale boundary, I think the original boundary of the landowners that sold for development was Willowbranch creek.  Most large parcels of land were divided at natural boundaries such as creeks or other bodies of water back before the turn of the century.   My guess would be that Willowbranch is the original boundary and makes perfect sense for today as well.

^There's no official boundary between Riverside and Avondale. Different people say different things; none are any more right (or wrong) than any other.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Well another crime tonight.  My bike was stolen. Happened in front of Zoe's.  I had it locked up on the bike rack in front of Zoe's.  Put it there around 6:30 and when I came back around 7:05 it was gone.  SO if anyone sees a blue 18" GT Rebound with yellow RockShox forks.  This was bought by me second hand so it isn't the shiniest bike out there, but if anyone sees a neighbor with new transport send me a message.

Man, genuinely sorry for your loss, bikes can be as a familiar as a family pet - I do understand.

but at least we are back on track reporting actual crimes in our community.

Please email this to 630city@coj.net

lookup the web address  www.crime view community.com
you have a few options to target a specific intersection and select a radius ,
check the boxes to select report all crimes,
lastlye enter your email address.
ssimple as that and you're good for weekly reports of everything going on in your hood.

since it is an extension of the JSO website functionality, if something reported online seems to strike a chord, too close to home you can go to your nearest substation probably zone 4 in Cedar Hills, and pick up a copy of the police report for free if you are the alleged victim

I most sincerely hope this information helps.

we have been trying for quite some time to get a group of neighbors connected

and not to add to any further derail but, originally Avondale lied wholly between Boone and  Willow branch parks, while a 4 and a half block wide plat  was the key.
the popularity mushroomed from there and yes today we have Riverside('s) Avondale.

while Murray Hill was once its own town with its own Mayor, it and areas immediately north of Lakeside Park, Fairfax Manor and Lakeshore East of Cassatt in golf an original Platte of what is still shown on my deeds as riverside village, reaching down into todays Jacksonville marina mile and dating as far back as 1907.

I've found that crime maps often have inaccuracies. The official JSO crime map is the best, on the COJ.net site.

Crazy, you guys have the same name!

This thread is not for the reporting of crimes, the links you listed are. This thread is for discussion. And the boundaries of Riverside and Avondale in a thread about crime in Riverside are important for determining in which specific area crimes are occurring. That and tangents often lead to the most interesting discussion, as demonstrated by your inability to follow your own advice.

The moderators of this site do a fine job moderating the forums, they don't need a neighborhood watch to help them monitor posts. Leave that up to the professionals.

According to Wayne Wood's book, the boundary between Riverside and Avondale is McDuff Ave.  Cherry Street IS in Riverside.

What kind of lock did you have on it?  I would be really upset if someone took my bike.  I use a cable, but the jerks are cutting them now maybe need to upgrade to something better.  Any advice?

Dog Walker, get yourself a U Lock. Some come with anti-theft warranties.
