While the Jazz Festival & Sharks game are nice compliments - I wonder how many more tickets could/would have sold if this were a stand-alone event.

I don't think it would make that much of a difference. The Sharks are on the road anyway.

Ah - thanks for clarifying - I had it in my head that parking could be jacked up for some reason.

Just to let everyone know.  The lots supposedly open at noon.  I talked to SMG, and their lots (Lots J and D) will open at noon.  I assume the others will too.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

There is some kind of religious convention at the arena this weekend I believe.

There is going to be some serious tailgating before the game. I know of quite a few different groups planning to tailgate all day.  And many of them aren't even soccer fans. Going to be a crazy weekend with Jazz Fest also going on.

I don't believe Altidore is reporting to camp until after the Jacksonville match.

That's correct - I think he gets in on the 28th.  I also heard that Dempsey hasn't practiced at all since he strained his groin before the last Fulham game so I'm sure we won't see him.

Good post Ajax. I follow the Bundesliga a bit and Boyd is likely going to move this summer. Just too much talent at Dortmund. He's actually not even the best forward prospect on their B team. He wants a move to a lower table BL or 2 BL team.

Ticket sales are unreal. Hopefully this will get us put into the regular rotation for national team games.

Yeah, I heard Boyd might be leaving.  As long as he's getting playing time, I'm okay with it.  But I like Dortmund and it would be great to have an American playing there.  Maybe one day.  Too bad Subotic didn't stick with the US!

downtown is already starting to fill up with soccer/football fans....Landing restaurants were apparently much more crowded last night than regular Mondays.

traffic should be interesting on Saturday.  Wonder if I should come via the Hart.

I have never been to a soccer match (beyond the high school level) but I may make a last minute decision to attend. If so I am biking it from Riverside.

Couple questions though. Has anyone biked to a stadium event? If so where did you lock up and were you able to bring in a bag with bike tools, spare pump, tube, etc?

cline

I've ridden my bike and locked it up to one of the lampposts in front of the stadium.  I rode a beach cruiser and didn't bother with any spare tools or anything like that.  I did leave a insulated bag strapped to my bike with a couple of beers in it- I was shocked they were still there after the game.

I was going to bring a cooler for beer to tail gate. I just figured after drinking the beer I would use the cooler to bring my spares and tools into the stadium so I wouldn't have to leave my cooler behind.

you can also chain your bike to the fence next to the stadium, that's what I do.

I occasionally bike to Jags games Lucas, and will probably do the same for the soccer game.  You just lock up your bike on the fence that surrounds the stadium.

I've never brought a bag of tools in, can't help you there.  I carry one of these:

If you want to do a bike caravan to the Intuition tailgate, let me know!  I've already attached my US flag to the bike in preparation of the event.
