Me and the wife went to Wafaa and Mikes today and were impressed with both the taste and portion sizes.  She ordered the Chicken Gyro and I got the Philly Cheese Steak.  Very good, definitely adding them to the lunch rotation.  Up next, City Kidz.

Looking forward to the First Friday and the cleanup on Saturday followed by our Hearing for our COA on the 24th.  Going to be a fun month.

Wacca pilatka, I took the photo of the sign and the Barnett building,  there are three sculptures, at 1st and Main, at 4th and Pearl and just beyond the park at Boulevard and 8th. They were done by The Woman's Club and HSCC using a Mayor's matching grant.  The sculptor was David Ponsler (look him up on the web) but his price was much higher than the grant allowed.  He came here and fell in love with the place and did the sculptures for the money the clubs had.  He has a magnificent web page, he also came to live here for a while.  the three stantions of each sculpture represent the past, present and future.
I took the photo on the SHEC web page. Anyone interested in joining?  Rita paid for that web

Thank you!

I have a lot of Springfield touring to do next time I am in town.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

Henry J. Klutho

When they did the first four blocks of Main I asked GAI - the engineering consultants - if the one at 1st and Main could be moved into the median.  They said at some point the blocks between State and 1st were going to be done and the better place for it would be at State and Main.  The problem here is the Klutho bridge which needs restoration badly, especially the under pinings.  Maybe we could fund raise to get Ponsler or someone to put a sculpture in one of the medians maybe around 7th, or maybe we could run a competition on designs and throw it open.  When they took the ties out of the street on the first four blocks I thought they could be used for a sculpture but, contamination got in the way.  Two pieces were polished, on given to Mayor Delaney and one is in the SPAR office.

I have heard of a ghost that is living in a warehouse around there.
