Park and King is pretty empty on King south of Park.  The turn around from Cafe Carmon to Taverna has been really quick and I'm very excited.

Yeah, but that isn't necessarily market-related. It's more douchebag-landlord-related...

I just drove past the ruby tuesday at the beach (marsh landing) and they're tearing the building down.
I didn't see any signs of what they're going to put up (if anything).

Rumor is that it will be a Chik-Fil-A

Chik-Fil-A, and I guess fast food in general because of a low price point, seems unaffected by the economic slow down. I have really never understood the long lines at Chik-Fil-A (at least the one here on Roosevelt that my daughter likes to go to). Their product quality is about the same as McD and BK. Service is a bit better though.

The service is usually alot better. And usually they are capable of getting your order correct.

Product is on par with McD's and BK? WTF are you smoking?

Uhh...Marlboro Lights...yea...it's the same frozen/pre-processed sh*t that they all serve.

reednavy

In a way perhaps, but IMO, CFAs is of better quality and doesn't taste like it has been rozen before. You also get a better cut of chicken breast from them anyways.

I used to live around the corner and those places had been empty since they opened, I'm surprised they lasted this long. Big strip malls at the beach have a hard time keeping stores in business. They all seem a little depressing when you go to them. Not sure what the answer could be.

They also tore down the old Hooters in the Stein Mart shopping center at A1A and JTB.

copperfiend

The whole side of the shopping center has been empty for years seemingly. I remember during the summer that side being used as a makeshift trolly depot.

So sad to hear the Panera in San Marco will be closing. I frequent that location, but hopefulyl they move into downtown.
