Ahh yes, I was young and innocent, and still knee deep in the creek catching tadpoles.

...Until I stumbled across that "back corner" in RBS.   ;D

I just drove past the ruby tuesday at the beach (marsh landing) and they're tearing the building down.
I didn't see any signs of what they're going to put up (if anything).

Aww, such a loss to Marsh Landing, not.

They're also doing some demolition in the South Beach Regional shopping center near Edwin Watts Golf.

Wendy's on St Johns Bluff closed also. - That was where the shooting took place, as well.

July was only a bad month compared to the previous months, when the numbers come out for August, you will see that back to school was abismal, and this will lead to August with bad numbers. Face it, the consumer is hurting and not spending. The 22 billion paid off in July of Credit Card debt shows people are scared to spend.

Suprisingly enough, residential real estate is doing quite well for single-family houses and first time home buyers.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

It makes sense that more and more people are opting to eat at home rather than splurging on restaurants these days.  Like I said somewhere else, I haven't been shopping in a regular mall in years.  I've stopped in a couple of places but didn't buy anything.

Applebee's in Julington Creek just closed in the last few days. Getting a little crazy down there. There is so much empty retail space down there, it is going to take years before it starts to turn the other way. Several of the new strip plazas built on that area in the last 2 years have never had tenants! Yet they continue to build more...Just dont get it?

Applebee's overall has been hurting for years, and I'm not surprised at all.

The other day I was driving on Atlantic and there were 4 homeless people eating under the porch what looked like a former chain italian restaurant. Very post-apocalyptic looking.

reednavy

I think that used to be a Fazzoli's.

There is a plaza on St Augustine/US1 that has two tenants and probably at least a dozen empty spaces that have never been occupied. There is a new plaza I saw on Philips/Sunbeam with one tenant and four or five never occupied spaces. It seems to be the newest trend.
