Jaguars must still sell more than 13,000 tickets to avoid blackouts

Jags marketing research showed about a 5000 season ticket bump if Tebow was drafted.

Well that would of brought the total down to 2,123. And if that many tickets was keeping us away from the goal I would be so mad.

Haha, Jags sold 99% of all tickets needed to remove the blackout, sadly the remaining 1% wasn't sold. The NFL commissioner sends his condolences...

If that's true, then it further shows that we definitely made the right decision.  A 5,000 bump for 1 season vs. a first round bust.  If the Jags build their team year after year the right way, then the 5,000 will come anyway versus a gimmick

Hopefully what they "drafted" will help the team. However thinking about it, ever since the Del Rio era started we have had some horrible draft picks.

And don't go slamming Tebow yet, he hasn't even played a game in the NFL, and you already classify him as a failure.

As of today the Jags have sold or renewed 34,159 season tickets.  They need to sell 15,123 (8000 of these expected to be sold through group sales) to get to the blackout avoidance number of 50,957.  They are 67% of the way there.

7,123 more tickets to sell, come on we can do it.

single game ticket sales should take care of that without much trouble.

Maybe they'll pull the tarps off for the Monday night game.....

urbanlibertarian

They can't.  The tarps must be there for all the Jags games or none each season.

Yeah - well, I'm probably getting a little ahead of myself there anyway.......

If they had Tebow...they could have pulled them off this season :D (could not resist)

My daughter went to Sunday School with Tebow a few times. She didn't even know who he was, he was THAT real.  The kid is or try's to be honest, devout, hard working, and moral, all the ingredients needed in today's warped world to bring him insults and ridicule.  I personally don't know him, have never met him and only seen 2 or 3 of his games, but as for the underachieving vultures sitting on the sidelines waiting for an opportunity for humiliation, I find myself cheering him on and hoping his performance sends us writhing in the pain of regret. Jacksonville could do much worse then a few hundred Tim Tebow's in town, but true to our own Self-denigrating form we seem to prefer a lesser class of citizen.

Okay Sportmotor, hypothetically say Tebow would have sold all of those tickets to remove the tarps for the first three years; If Tebow ends up a bust, as the fickle Gator homer/Tebow fanbase dies off, then they'll hafta retarp the stadium?! Wayne Weaver is a smarter business man than that; It's all about supply and demand. I would'nt worry about removing any tarps any time soon; Worry about all of the untarped seats.

I totally agree. I couldn't have said it better.

I disagree that Alualu is any less of a citizen. He's certainly got the humility part down pat...

^^^Yup, He's too a Christian, and wore religious-related eye black; unfortunately for him, he's "not a Gator *country twangy voice*".
