55? Okay, I've known that magic number, and... As the train gets closer to the end point terminal
you say goodbye to the passengers and inventory all the tickets you've collected. It's as natural as sneaking into a dark freight station with the prom queen back when you were 17. Frankly when I kick off, I want to be stuffed! Stand me in a corner and I'll hold the umbrellas.

Friend Faye, you may have damaged your voter base beyond repair in our Conservative little piece of heaven. Anyone who thinks the UN is all about peace, love and the American way, hasn't studied the various proclamations that have come out of the UN wacko fringe...

Green treaty's that shut down American industrial might while allowing China to run over the rules.

Taking children's fund moneys to support a Moslem government and machine gun the opposition in Africa.

Making statements that until religion is stamped out we cannot achieve world peace and unification. By the way, the chapel in the UN is to the "Peace and power of man..."

Frankly the "CIA DID IT", becomes laughable when living in another country. Simple stuff like we are out of size 29 men's jeans... CIA did it! etc...

Lol.  Vintage Ock!!!

One question though:  How do you judge a system by what comes out of its 'whacko fringe'?

Wouldnt that, by definition be pretty much what that organization is not about?

On a positive note Stephendare, the UN does seem to have collected the whacko fringe from all over the world and stuck them in a single building. Frankly vintage Ock, says that if the whole damn building turned "China" and fell over into the river... well... It WOULD kill a lot of fish!

I like this site.

I have considered more local/state issues in two days here than in a year.

Too often I get caught up in the national debate, when so much here is relevant.

State and local politicians are even more trackable, to a degree.

Kudos to this site's founders.

While it seems unlikely, I suppose you could make a few campaign promises and see how far they take you.

Yeah.......the Republicans are pretty absurd! I see and hear plenty of trash mouth talking but I have yet to see anything concrete come from the Republican side of the aisle........silly people. When oh when will they spew something other than whine whine whine! Talk is real cheap.....show me your power!

Chew bones for everyone! Forced military service for 3 years when you hit the age of 18! Higher pay for the military! A cold war to boost the economy, and technology leaps from weapon development! A trip to Mars! Year around schooling from elementry to highschool with increased testing standards. The complete annihilation of the middle east turning it into a big sheet of glass sucking of there oil then Isolationism! Better care for veterans of all ages physical and mental.

The killing is what presidents deliver. Promises should resemble rose gardens.

Why lie, when I'll tell you what I will do and do it.

Intresting fact, did you know the Marines techincally can be deployed and go to war without the approval of congress? The Army cant but the Marines are in essince under direct command of the presendent and can go without congressional approval (I am 80% sure on that) Although Im a Army Airborner myself

Well in reality it would cost more so best bet would be the tactical taking of all the oil fields with heavy defence around them while draining them then leaving the area. Leading the country back into isolationism, with the exemption of helping Russia with its economy in exchange for a 50/50 profit share on its own oil reserves in exchange for helping extract it, stockpiling and cutting off those foreign country's from drilling off the us coast for oil unless its in international waters.
If it were me Id then take that oil use the revenue(not all but at least 30% of it) and seriously invest in the development of an alternative resource for later means of transportation. Then using some profit from the oil to pay teachers increased salary for turning the school system to being year around until 12th grade, with higher standards, and a nice little development funding for space research.

War is ugly but profitable. Id be truly upfront about my intentions lol.

Yea things like this, get discussed between beer runs with service members o.O

If anyone is going to beat John Mica, the friendliest man to the Greens in Florida in any real sense because of his devotion to transportation and port issues, thats what I'd like to hear how they are going to accomplish.

Well, many people are having problems with his extremism. As congenial as he puts himself out to be at the local level, he is a certified extremist in his votes and statements.

According to the National Journal based on his voting record he is the most right wing extremist Congressman in FL, and his outlandish statements are finally drawing the attention. For example this is what I found in a blog entry:

QuoteLook, it's no surprise that I have policy disagreements with John Mica. But I expect at least a small amount of honesty and decency from my Congressman. I have not voted for the man, but I have defended him on a number of issues, influenced in part by what I perceived as intellectual honesty on the issue of high speed rail.

The reality, however, is that Mica doesn't deserve that graciousness. His support of rail is obviously and simply local politics, because the man has no decency or intellectual honesty. He endorses some of the most vile and obvious lies about some of the most important issues people will face in their lives, just to curry favor and votes from the extremists, helping to conjure up blind and ignorant hatred that is undoubtedly going to lead to violence and which is splitting the country at its seams. And for what? To prevent people from having a basic level of health security? No, that's just a casualty in his political game. Consequences don't matter, other than vote getting and stirring the pot.

I agree!

Faye, You had my defacto support simply by showing up in a public forum and displaying knowledge of issues and standing your ground. Please, don't let me down.

I'm sure if you are making assertions as to a political opponents extremism and pathological dishonesty that you can offer more compelling evidence than a blog entry.

Do you lend credence to those who cite the Politico as a reference for information?
