Time Lapse of Boomtown's old location on Main Street

Great photo of Boomtown. I sure do miss the aesthetics of it on Main St. I moved to Springfield in 2001 and don't remember Abba's place being there at all. I thought Lee Harvey's gallery was there but it's hard to keep up with all the change that has happened.

Any plans on reopening Boomtown?

Jax needs a great place for entertainment and food. I've been missing it...

I'm surprised you never took your sign with you.

Yes, and how about some photos of the future location along with current renovations?

what about those in Springfield who would be supportive of the restaurant! I am sure there would be many including me.

All of Main Street misses Boomtown.

& Epicurean

& the tons of funky places, the stores that used to sell odd items, gone, all gone.

Stephen, if you won't reopen Boomtown can you at least publish a cookbook? I cannot satisfy my craving for peanut mash potato, fried chunks of cheddar, and the tofu oh yummmmm!

I've asked him for this 47 times.

Or at least the recipe for that stuffed chicken that was my favorite meal at boomtown.

I actually miss having a full commercial kitchen at my fingertips.

You know John and I actually had plans on publishing the Boomtown Cook Book, complete with recipes and demonstrations of the cooking techniques.  Anytime you want me to come over and show you how to make the peanut gravy, just invite me over for dinner! ;)

Be careful saying this in public! Some of us might take you up on it! ;-)

When I lived in Springfield and now when I pass by I always look at this place and think why can't this be a nice coffee shop or lounge? Close to downtown, easy to get to, always something happening outside to watch. Those sale/lease signs in the window seem to mockingly glare out at hopeful passerbys. I understand that one place/project cannot change everything, but something coming into here or Surfside Furniture would certainly change the area for the better.

Of course, my perspective is merely from the bar/nightlife customer angle. I guess there are more factors involved than just writing a business plan, stocking the bar and turning on the lights.
