Thanks... I keep forgetting to visit at night... :)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Great public art! Nice to see JAX take a step forward every once in a while, even if it's a baby step.

thanks for sharing those photos, it's a nice addition

Very artistic pictures!  I love how the neon compliments the other lit bridges and buildings along the river.  I sometimes forget how beautiful Jacksonville can be.  Too bad we can't take the neon idea and run with it.  "Jacksonville, Where Neon Meets the River"

I just think it is sad that the Fowler art piece isn't complimented by anything else in the area.  Unless you are walking along the riverwalk at night, there isn't any reason to visit that area unless you go just to see the memorial.  I wish the Brooklyn park project hadn't collapsed.  It would have brought people to the area other than the 9-5 commuters.

It's pretty, I love it, but what the hell is it? (I should use my imagination or what?)...and don't tell me it's a tree.

It is a tree... an oak to be specific.

I like it. Its really unlike Jacksonville to do something like this, more Miami or Atlanta.

Get the gambling ban repealed and throw a couple casinos downtown and that will be a reality!   ;D

Not to be disrespectful to the honoree, but my guess is it may be a brain of some sort!

Note the startling similarities of the shapes.  Also, see my earlier comparison made on another MJ thread:

I have to say this sculpture looks to me like the human brain  :D , not an oak tree per the artist.

Hey!  Whatever happened to just plain ol' COMMON SENSE!!

It reminds me of the light glow sticks you give kids...I think it's cute...

OMG, that had to be their inspiration.
