There is a restaurant in Charlottesville, VA with the name High Tide Burrito. I believe that is what caused confusion.

I caught that right after I posted. When I skimmed over a post from someone earlier in the thread, I gathered the impression they had already been there.

That makes it even better that it's a local thing! What's Jacksonville's ranking on America's fattest cities again?

Jacksonville loves chinese take out and 1000 calorie burritos.

They're open! While driving home on my lunch break I saw a lady standing with a "now open" sign on the side of Hendricks so I did a pretty swift turn into the parking lot to give them a try.

I tried two tacos with adobe beef (or protein) as they like to call the meat called there. I doused them in their hot sauce, which is actually pretty spicy as my mouth is still burning at this moment. I'm going to reserve any critique or voicing of an opinion until I've tried out several of their entrees, as there was 4 others I was curious to try as well.

I'm eager to hear everyone's input about the place. The decor is pretty sleek as you can see in the pictures posted in the May 2009 downtown construction update. I got my order to go since my apt's so close, but it looks like a place I’d have no problem spending some time in.  As for right now I believe they're only open for lunch.

Having local ownership, I hope they succeed.

finally made it had the cactus and mushrooms on a salad with hot salsa and there hibscus drink. I really enjoyed the meal, although some hot sauce choices would be nice.

Adobe beef, cactus, hibscus drink! I definitely gotta check this place out!

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

UGH, i just ate there and im not impressed. I had a chicken burrito with cilantro lime rice, beans, hot salsa, cheese and lettuce.  It was very bland and the chips tasted like crackers.  The place is nice inside and looks very clean, but sorry to say, but even Moe's taste better than this place. I'll stick with Burrito Gallery though for similar food.

I ate there Saturday and had a fish burrito.  I thought it was pretty good, but I will order the fish on a taco next time.  I wish I was adventurous enough to try the cactus, but not yet.  Going back to try out their beef.  I would say that if they are trying to be not 'beach and surf dude', they are doing an awful job.  There are pictures of waves on the wall and the logo has a wave in it...... I thought the deco was awesome, but nothing Kenny Chesney about it.
