Reading just the subject title of this thread I thought it was about a MAN WHO POOPED in your yard not the actual dog he was walking.

My mistake leads me to the idea of brining human feces back to his door step... as much as possible.

And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Shwaz, I thought that too. "Dog poops on lawn"  somehow seem less interesting than the other way around.

QuoteShwaz, I thought that too. "Dog poops on lawn"  somehow seem less interesting than the other way around.

It reminds me of Jim Carrey in "Me, Myself & Irene" when he took back his news paper from the neighbor, dropped trou right in front of him in the neighbors yard and did work.

And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

BT, could you include a link to that statute? I'd like to look for one that requires spay/neuter for these buttheads who let their dogs run loose. Thx!

fatcat

All cats agree those buttheads (not limited to Dogs) should be spay/neutered.  :D :D :D :D

QuoteWhenever an animal defecates upon any property not owned, leased, rented, or otherwise in the
care, custody, or control of the animal's owner, the animal's owner shall immediately remove and
properly dispose of feces.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

OMFG, stop the presses! A bird just crapped on my car. Description of the Bird:

Color: White
Breed: Pigeon
Height: About 8" +/-.5"
Weight: 3lbs 6oz. +/- 1lb
Feathers: A lot of them
Beak: Yellow
Eyes: It has two
Feet: It has two of these also, with claws on them (OMG it could be threatening THE CHILDREN!!!)

Last seen flying North by Northwest. I tried to follow it, but I crashed into someone's house when the bird continued BREAKING THE LAW and didn't fly exactly over a street. We need to get this law-breaking miscreant IMMEDIATELY before he defiles someone's yard...

ChriswUfGator ,  you are really trying to make a serious topic funny. Haha. Again, the animals can not help themselves. Human are expected to obey the law and behave in civilized manner. Without displaying prejudice against David, I must ask:
Do you happen to own a poodle? Were you happen to be on Laura st around 7:30pm? Can you provide your home address so we can bring our doggies for "bowel movement"?

David

If the hot button issue in Springfield is dog shit, I’d say the neighborhood revitalization is complete!

fatcat

so we forgive the less crime? where do we draw the line? We want our hood to get better. Is that so wrong? When I walk my dog at midnight, there is no one to notice my dog shit and no one to remind me, I pick them up. I cannot believe that piece of trash (not the dog poo) refuse to pick up after his dog after being confronted.

DetroitInJAX

So David wants us to send all our dog shit to his ex boss at JEA?

stephElf

sorry i personally could careless if someone with a great dane lets their dog crap in my yard

the rain will wash it away, a cat will eat it or it will get run over with the lawn mower

Based on the municode then StephELF there is no problem. As long as you the property owner don't care it isn't a citable infraction. I would caution though to make sure you wear your shoes and keep any animals you have up-to-date on deworming as many poop parasites are contagious to humans as well as their pets. And they aren't all visible in the poop. Here is the full section of that code that BT referenced:

Sec. 462.301.  General.
(a)   Animals shall not be kept on property in a manner that causes any one or more of the following: creates unsanitary conditions; is a source of infestation by insects or rodents; creates physical conditions that endanger the health or safety of humans, that are detrimental to property values, or that tend to degrade the appearance of a neighborhood.
(b)   Whenever an animal defecates upon any property not owned, leased, rented, or otherwise in the care, custody, or control of the animal's owner, the animal's owner shall immediately remove and properly dispose of feces. The only exception is by permission of the property owner.
(c)   An owner shall remove and properly dispose of feces and other animal wastes on owner's property so as to avoid noxious and nauseous odors that are irritating, annoying or offensive to a person of normal sensibilities; or that are injurious to human, plant or animal life; or that reasonably interfere with the use and enjoyment of property.
(Ord. 2004-259-E, § 1)

And here's the one I was looking for. Spay/Neuter your animals!!!

Sec. 462.307.  Requirement to confine female dog or cat in heat.
(a)   It shall be unlawful and punishable by a fine of $250 for the owner of a female dog or cat in heat to permit or allow it to be upon the public street or in a public place unless restrained by leash, tether or chain and under the physical control of the owner. The owner of a female dog or cat in heat shall, at all times, keep it securely confined on private property and inside a secure building or secure enclosure having a secure top and bottom attached to all sides so as to prevent conception, with the exception of controlled and intentional breeding. A female dog or cat found to be in violation of this Section is hereby declared to be a nuisance and may be impounded as provided in this Chapter.
