Margaritaville hotel planned for Beachwalk along 14-acre Crystal Lagoon

A 130-room Margaritaville hotel is planned in Beachwalk, the master-planned community in St. Johns County along County Road 210.

Beachwalk Retail Center LLC, a partnership between PEBB Enterprises and Falcone Group, announced Aug. 23 it will develop the COMPASS by Margaritaville at Beachwalk along the community's 14-acre Crystal Lagoon.

Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023 with completion set for the second quarter of 2024, according to a news release. Construction costs were not disclosed.

It's a totally man-made lagoon created out of a acres of bulldozed forest with water that is constantly filtered and purified to keep it shiny and sparkly? And what other exclusive amenity makes this stand out from the crowded vacation resort crowd? Oh, I see they're building a high school next to it! What a meta-like county CVB secret FunFact! Always thought as great as Cumberland Island was it was missing something...YES, hundreds of rooftops and the commercial and institutional infrastructure to support them! So not far away from Roomba Pond, so sorry I mean Beachwalk, there is an actual beach minutes away as the crow flies (since all of its natural habitat has gone tits up)? One that features waves, sunrises, fishing, ocean breezes, and unique shops? Awesome stuff this Beachwalk thingy does not provide?

It's not even a real lagoon. Lagoons are connected to the ocean by an inlet. This is a pond.
