Saw the demo this week of what appears to be the building at 1502 Hendricks Avenue at the corner with Cedar Street, diagonal from Aardwolf Brewing.  Per tax rolls, it was built in 1924.  Appears to be owned by interests of Sue and Henry Turner.

Anyone know some history on this building?

Per Google Street View, didn't appear to be in good shape:  https://goo.gl/maps/GX7gafYCrRQT2GBJ8

I don't know the history of it but a car ran into the storefront on the corner about a decade ago or so.

Just saw it tonight. No idea what's coming next. Hopefully not a parking lot.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

It was awful....

There was another recent demo that happened with little fanfare down closer to San Marco Blvd on LaSalle I believe, and yes it is now additional parking for a commercial business there. Do not remember the address but I think it 1017 LaSalle.  It was an old wood frame structure...

I noticed that was gone a few weeks ago.

It seemed to be in relatively good standing. Not sure of the inside.

The article said it was condemned. That's not exactly "in good standing" IMO

I believe he was referring to the other structure on Lasalle, not the one taken down with regard to the article.

It got swamped by Matthew and they did nothing to repair it after that.  It's a shame, but the owners neglected it to the point that this is the only course of action.  I hope they have been slapped with fines for the last 2 years.

Correct.

The one on Hendricks looks like it is about to collapse.

This is the one on LaSalle you're thinking of.  I was hoping that it meant they found a tenant for that location on San Marco that would need a lot of parking like brewpub or restaurant.
