Hoptinger opening in Riverside

I love the Beaches/Riverside debate on this thread. I did San Marco/Riverside for a few years, then Jax Beach for like...5 months before moving to downtown, then back over to Riverside for a bit. Nothing wrong with either, but you do tend to either tend to prefer one over the other. Plus, my beach experience wasn't ideal... I had a slumlord apartment right behind Joe's Crack Shack. And all of this was probably 8 or 9 years ago.

Riverside has come along way since then. So many more options now. I can think back to just a few short years ago where five points had mostly empty parking spots on a weekend night.

There has been a lot of activity on the site. Any word on a timeline?

It still looks a while away from being finished, which is a shame. As a bar you'd think they would want to be open in time for football season.

I saw on their Facebook that they were aiming for late fall.

Hopefully they can be open before FL/GA.

Looks like they are getting close to opening, saw some training or maybe a soft opening going on in there the other night. I guess I didn't realize how much sports bar action was going to go on in there. Lots of big screens.

Have you been to the one at the beach before?

It's a cool spot, especially if you live within walking distance.

But it is very loud and has a ton of TV's.

FlaBoy

It is definitely very very close to opening. The TVs are up and the chairs are even out on the rooftop. Will be interesting to see the type of crowd it attracts for 5 Points.

After this opens, where should I try to park if I want to go to Five Points on a Friday or Saturday night? (I'm not being snide, I'm just curious if there is some good place to park I don't know about.)

lol I mean if you can find parking NOW on Friday or Saturday night I'd say you're the expert

Ok, thanks haha

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

If you are going out later, say after 10, it is not hard to find parking. If you are going around 8, try Lomax down near Riverside or another side street. Parking is really not that bad.

jaxlore

I saw a sign saying they were open over the weekend for a private event and should be open in the coming week.

As for parking I parked there twice Saturday night within no more then a block each time.
