I have to admit, Dalvin Cook (so glad his punk azz has finally used up his damn college eligibility!) would be a *very* interesting addition to this offense.

There's your home run guy at running back. We have an elite WR in Allen Robinson (and Marqise, IMHO), and allowing Blake to be more Tyrod-like makes him much more effective and much more dangerous.

He still has eligibility but will 99% turn pro after this season.

And so it goes

Yes, quite obviously. He was supposed to be a Gator! Don't get me started about Jimbo's bag man  ;-)

Now you're just trolling me, Ennis -- fair game, I guess, especially since the Dolphins seem to have done what I hoped the Jags would do this season. (((sigh))) But the Canes ? ? ?

We'll soon have our QB situation straight in Gator Country and then Big Daddy is gonna settle some scores. We have a 6'6" bi-racial freshman QB who was a 3-sport star in high school in the Tallahassee area waiting in the wings. This is a kid who impressed the hell out of Ray Lewis (you remember him, don't you Ennis?) as a stone cold warrior in the State Championship game (Wakulla High School vs Bishop Moore) with plays like this, where he scrambled out of danger and then, while off balance and falling backwards, let loose a pass that traveled more than 55 yards on the fly and found its mark:

https://youtu.be/YTpBBj0OOZ0

For those of us with some knowledge and patience, we're very satisfied that we're in good shape in Gainesville. Also, there's this:

In 1992 the Florida Gators went 9-4, losing to the Vols and the Noles on the road. The loss to Tennessee was by 17 points and the loss to FSU was by 21. We also got thumped by Mississippi State in Starkville. We won the SEC East that year and played eventual National Champion Alabama in the SEC Championship game. That team averaged 24.3 points per game before the SEC Championship Game.

The 2016 Florida Gators lost to Tennessee by 10 points and FSU by 18, both on the road. We also got thumped by Arkansas on the road. We have won the SEC East and will play National Championship favorite Alabama for there. In the 11 games before the SEC Championship game, this year's Gators have averaged 24.1 points per game.

The head coach of the 1992 Florida Gator team was in his 3rd season, the head coach of the 2016 Florida Gator team in his second. Would it have been prudent to fire the head coach of the 1992 team based on his results that year? I don't think so, but others may disagree.

So, McElwain has been saddled with odd quarterback situations in both of his years at U.F. but has made the title game each year and (this is important to me) averaged as many points this year as Steve did in his THIRD year.

No, the situation isn't exactly apples-to-apples (there's more scoring across the board these days, of course) but that doesn't matter. The similarities are real enough, indisputable enough, to give a rational person pause in the whining some are engaging in about McElwain.

The cycle is getting ready to turn, baby bubba.

Sorry, don't have a link, but CBS Sports has a new report out today saying that the Jags want to bring back Tom Coughlin next year, and that Coughlin wants the gig. Grain of salt, but there are rumors that Khan met with Tom last week.

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Keith-N-Jax

Seems like we are still in need of a QB, I really thought BB5 was it, he still may be but he's not making  a strong case. 2-10 is pretty sad, defense is playing well enough to win games if the offense could stop scoring points for the other team.

This is probably Mike Mccarthy's last year in Green Bay. He would be a much better option for the Jaguars.

Why would you say that???  Stop listening to Florio...lol

You must still be extremely self-medicated from the game to actually believe this statement.

You're quoted for posterity, but we'll allow you to backtrack that statement after you sober up.  ;D

Haha! I didn't say that he move to the Jags. I said that this is probably his last year in GB. Rodgers needs a different voice.

They've done too well together to let one down year be the end of it.  I would be shocked if McCarthy isn't in GB next year.

I have a friend that works at the stadium.

Obviously hearsay but from what he has heard, there is legitimate interest in Coughlin. But likely not as head coach but rather in the front office or as an adviser.

RattlerGator

Thank goodness, because I definitely don't want Tom Coughlin as head coach.

We need an offense guy, we need him to settle Blake down. I still believe in Blake, bigtime, but our scheme doesn't seem dynamic at all and his skillset is being wasted.

BridgeTroll

I dont know RG... Byron's... erm... Blaine's... um... Blake's skillset seems rather limited...  :o :D
