Urban explorers in jax.  Old jea building among others. They cite mj as a source.

Yeah, the time lapse shots are cool.

As far as the content of "exploring" the actual "abandoned" locations it is pretty mundane.

wouldn't waste actual thought on your post, lastdays.

I met you once, seemed like a nice dude.

Seemed.

I had seen this on the Jacksonville Reddit page a few weeks ago.  It's worth putting on your muck boots and going to the site occasionally to dig up a good post about Jax.  But if you can only stand one forum, definitely stick with MJ!

I dunno, I was found both the video and lastdaysoffla's comments pretty amusing.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Nice video. I watched the entire thing last night and a few other videos they had of stuff from the area I grew up in, in Central Florida. The school in the video isn't the Annie Lytle. It's Public School No. 8 in Phoenix, off 17th & Franklin. The Talleyrand Terminal railroad tracks and shape of the building give it away. DCPS quietly closed this school and relocated it to the Southside a few years back. It opened in 1912 and for years was known as J. Allen Axson Elementary School.

Back in 2012 when it was occupied by the Northeast Springfield Head Start Center.

Why did they close it? Looking at the street view, as of May 2015 it's still well kept landscaping wise. Are there any plans for it? Did I miss an MJ article about this building? :)

Hey North Florida music fans. Still bummed that Freebird Live will no longer have awesome bands so now you're scrambling for a new hot musical venue?

Well thanks to our friends at Jax Urban Explorers, they've discovered the perfect new musical showcase. Behind red velvet ropes (and/or rusty broken chain link fences) lie this old gem. What it lacks in decor, and ambiance, and it's own electricity, and hazmat suits is more than made up in sonic quality - the sound is AMAZEBALLS and these young trailblazers can testify to that!!

And if you need a break from the tunes, there's no more perfect place to chill than the UPSTAIRS LOUNGE featuring views of the city (and hudreds of rickety flakey airborne lead painted metal stairs) that literally take your breath away dressed up in a sly Wild West motif featuring floor cactus and, uh, more floor cactus. A wonderful place to hang and kick off your shoes (except please don't kick off your shoes because...you know...floor cacti).

So come on out and discover what music fans and urban explorers alike (plus that Stefan guy that used to be on Saturday Night Live)have been itching to get into. And get out of. And finally treating said itches with Neosporin because after 24 hours the skin discoloration really starts to freak you out.

Who the hell in JAX needs Ikea? When we got all the ickey we need RIGHT HERE!!  ;D
