Bank of America Tower

I also would like to see the lights come back on at the top of the BOA building, plus the main street bridge, and JEA which has been dark for some time. I know times are lean and people are trying to save on costs and energy, but these are small contributors to an uninviting downtown and stymie progress in my humble opinion. I'm an adherent to the expression the devil is in the details.

Justin, thanks for the info. I just sent them an e-mail. Lets get everyone to do the same. Thanks, Shane

LED doesn't use that much energy, not to mention at the top of the buiding you could put them on a seperate system and solar power them.

QuoteThe Bank of America lights are coming back on. The lights at the pyramid peak of the downtown building were on each night for the building's first 15 years or so, said Jenny Wilkes, the property manager. But nine or 10 years ago, maintenance costs got too high and peak stayed dark. But now new LEDs have been installed, she said, and they'll be turned on at 9 p.m. Saturday.

This thread is almost exactly six years old from the last post, so about time for some good news. The BOA Tower lights will be turned on this Saturday. A positive move for the new owners in my opinion.

Awesome!! Lighting and signage is great, but 35k sq ft being leased and an entire exec team relo to Jax is the real story!

But yeah, the lighting and signage is cool too.  8)

Pretty cool news...both BOA and Ameris Bank!

Lighted green strips, from the bottom of the pyramid, on all four corners all the way down to street level would be cool too. Make sure y'all get some pics of those new LED lights; should be awesome on the pyramid.

For real. Great news! Jax has always been a banking center and with Deutche, Everbank, and more joining, this is a good sign that may continue even 15 years after Barnett.

So stoked to see this! It's a shame our tallest building has been so dark for so long.

Its a start. Got to improve those vista shots for primetime TV. Networks have been using dated stock footage.

Not that this will make them update their shots.  I saw on the Weather Channel recently a picture of the Jacksonville skyline with the "Independent Life" building front and center.  How long ago was that, twenty years?
