Calling all Graphic Designers: Jax needs some snapchat geofilters!

I know this isn't super important but could someone please make Jacksonville some snapchat geofilters?!

For those who aren't aware, Snapchat is a very popular messaging app that almost every millennial has on their smartphone. One feature of the app is to add "geofilters" to your picture to let people know what city you are in. Almost every major and non-major city in the country and frankly across the world has had someone make a filter for their location... except for Jacksonville. If anyone could make a filter (or knows someone who can) for some of the neighborhoods of Jacksonville or at least just one for the whole city that would be awesome! I think it is honestly a mark of legitimacy that we are missing out on. Plus if we have one, eventually we can be featured on a "story" one day where every person on the planet that has the app will be able to see the cool things going on in Jacksonville that day. I would do it myself but I lack the expertise. If someone wants to help, here is the link to get started https://www.snapchat.com/geofilters
Thanks

I as JUST talking about this today!
I can't do it, but I'll pass it along to people who might be able to!

Agreed! Even Louisville has them. I'm pretty surprised Jacksonville doesn't have one yet.

Until these things have been in existence for 20 years, I wouldn't expect to see a JAX version.

So you are saying the young hipster types that frequent this site don't care enough to come up with a few?  By Looking at their site it encourages artist, etc.  to submit.  Not like this requires someone from the city to be involved.

Now I know what those are. Lol...i don't use sc often, but I was curious where folks got those filters (along with time, temperature, etc)

I believe Vic was just joking. Besides, being 6 months behind in social media is equivalent to 20 normal years.

I am a designer, and I have actually attempted to make geofilters for Snapchat in the past (as part of a work project). I think it would be great as well, but I can tell you that they are EXTREMELY fickle with what they allow on a geofilter. It's almost like you have to tickle their fancy just so in order for them to use the damn thing. But I'm in favor of it.

I submitted one today, lets see where it goes. I'd attach it so you could see it if I knew how to on this board

^Awesome! I hope they accept it. If you have a weblink to the image you can click the mona lisa button and put the url between the boxes. I hope it incorporated something iconic about Jax like the main st. bridge or something!

Thats cool, but Thats not the one I submitted...

I wonder if it got applied to another Jacksonville by mistake.

I was excited when I heard about the filter but then I actually saw it. It's very... underwhelming.

I took the image I show added some color and shadows and placed it along the bottom. No offense to whoever did the current one that shows up though. But that one is a bit bland, but they did get it through... Lol
