Absolutely LOVE the Greene pick.

A steal for round five.

The Greene and Bennett picks are getting a lot of love it seems.

We apparently signed Nick Marshall from Auburn as a DB. Probably more of a developmental signing, but good potential pick up down the road. He looked atrocious throwing at the combine, so I doubt he gets a sniff at QB.

Looks like another good draft. Thank god we now have management that actually drafts talent from big programs. Every draft pick this year (excluding Sterling) played bigtime football and a lot of them (save Fowler) are used to winning. Just messin Gator fans.  ;)

Really think Greene and Bennett are fantastic value picks that should have gone a lot earlier. I think Greene will be an offensive equivalent to what Telvin Smith was last year. Its almost like the league is trying to hook the Jags up or something. I've been a huge fan of his before he even came to FSU and will expound a little more on him for the non-FSU fans here. He scored the highest wonderlic (intelligence test) of any WR in this draft. Could have gone pro and probably gone higher last year, but wanted to get his degree.  He's a very quiet, humble guy that likes to lead by example. Really hard worker and despite his size, is a decent blocker. He ran a 4.5 40 which is average, but has very good football speed and is elusive, quick, and has great instincts after the catch. He has elite body control when the ball is in the air and a 37 inch vert to go with it. Because of that, he plays taller than 5'11 on jump balls. He's also a great route runner and good at finding holes in zone defenses.  Due to his size, he will probably never be a #1 WR, but he has a chance to be a very good 2 or 3 option and have a long NFL career if he stays healthy.

Here's a good video of his career at FSU

Cann and Yeldon seem like great picks. Not sure about Fowler. Why him when Leonard Williams was available? Oh well. Looks like a pretty good draft overall though.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Could just be personal bias, but I *kind of* feel like the Jags had the best draft in the league.

Jags weren't the only team that past on Williams, he slid for a reason. Questionable shoulder injury.

I was still skeptical of the Rashad Greene pick and decided to take a closer look at his profile.

ESPN Insiders Analysis

QuoteRankings Explained:
1 = EXCEPTIONAL; 2 = ABOVE AVERAGE; 3 = AVERAGE; 4 = BELOW AVERAGE; 5 = MARGINAL

Production -- ranked in category 1

Height-Weight-Speed -- ranked in category 4; Shorter than the average WR prospect and has a slight frame. Shorter arms and smaller hands. Top-end speed is average but 10-yard split (1.53 seconds) is on the faster side. Vertical jump (36.5 inches), short shuttle (4.12 seconds) and three-cone (6.88 seconds) results were all better than average.

Durability -- ranked in category 2; Slight frame is cause for concern when projecting long-term durability in NFL, but has a history of being a durable player. Played in all 42 games (40 starts) during final three seasons at FSU (2012-14). In 2011, missed four games (Duke, Maryland, North Carolina State and Boston College) with Achilles injury midway through season.

Intangibles -- ranked in category 1; Hard worker. Pro's mentality. A mature leader and one of four permanent team captains named by head coach Jimbo Fisher in 2013. A good student. Son of Cassandra Greene.

So, looking at this analysis it's clear folks gave him every possible benefit of the doubt. It's also clear that he fell in the draft because of his lack of physicality; at 5' 11" & 182 lbs., a category 4 ranking is below average and it is extremely hard for a pro football player to overcome that kind of assessment. After reading this link, however, I'm feeling much better about the pick:

Welcome, Rashad, and best wishes to you! I now think you *are* going to be able to help this football team.

When its 3rd down and 6 you put Rashad Greene in the slot and get 7. Great possession receiver who will occasionally break one.

Between the FA signings and this new draft class, there will be some serious competition to make that 53 man roster. This looks really good on paper Dave, now just have to trust the coaching staff can execute from here.
