Got to be Garth Brooks, or maybe Gaga. I guess it could be Timberlake, but I'd hope that wouldn't qualify as "bigger" or more "historic" than One Spark or the USMNT.

I am not sure how a tour stop of any kind could be considered "historical" since it will be occuring multiple times in the same week in other cities.

I guess we will have to wait and see what it is but my guess it this is being way overblown.

CityLife

Yea by using the word historical, I'm thinking it has to be a legendary type performer like a Paul McCartney or Rolling Stones type.

Yea I guess it wouldn't really be that big. He's only one of the key pieces of the greatest musical act of the 20th Century....

And this shows us that everyone has their own opinon of what is considered a "big" or "historical" is. Whatever it is, I just hope its not another let down  ;D

A few other possibilities

Linkin Park is kicking off their US tour in West Palm Beach in August

KISS is hitting Tampa and West Palm in July

I support meaningless jingoistic cliches

QuoteConsidering the kind of things going on this year, it's hard to believe anything that could fit in the Arena would really be the "biggest Jacksonville has seen in many years". But I don't think this administration knows the meaning of "soft sell".[/quote

Mayor Brown and his administration could have a paint drying contest and call it a big deal. Anytime he can get a camera on him is quality time.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

If Bruno Mars came to the Arena I wouldn't be all like "Whoopty Do!!!" but that doesn't mean that he isn't a major act. So 'major act' doesn't always equate to "I personally love this band" Just my take.

They called it "historic", not just major

Tacachale

It says it's an "event". Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga both work with AEG.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

CityLife

Well that would be a nice rabbit to pull out of the hat. You might even call it "next level".
