I like that. Its similar to the seahawks stadium, except we could close ours up. Ive always thought that was a good idea in Jax. We get a little more rain and thunderstorms than MIA and Tampa, not to mention the Florida heat is draining. I think everbank field has endless possiblities of upgrading without having to build a new stadium. When it was first built, it was plain, but that is what made it like a blank canvas.

Not to mention with that design even when center area is open would keep most of the crowd noise inside the stadium similar to Seattles stadium. I think that has alot to do with it also as Shad stated we need that 12th man atmosphere.

If you've ever been to an indoor football or basketball game, you would understand why I say it would be horrible

Do sharks games count? I think this is more personal preference. Obviously the market deems domes at a much higher value than open air stadiums. It is now the standard by which determine the haves and have-nots of arenas.
Proud supporter of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

umm no...and I beg to differ....in fact, most of the domes of the last generation (like Seattle) have been replaced by either open-air stadiums or ones with retractable roofs

^^^I agree. Although whose to say that concept wasn't a retractable roof?

Never been to an indoor football game, but I've been to a few basketball games. What's horrible?

Was Chad Smith wearing a Jags beanie during the Super Bowl?

His whole kit had stickers of NFL teams. I didn't see the Jags sticker. Maybe wore the beanie.

After the show, switched beanies

So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

SMoody84

Looks very similar to the Jags New Era Beanie..  however, his is the New Era Super Bowl beanie.

I wouldn't say haves and have-nots. The stadium in the Meadowlands is open air and is the most expensive stadium in the world. What the retractable roof stadiums have done though is allow cities like Dallas, Houston, Indy and Glendale to host Final Fours and draw huge crowds. Double or triple what the largest basketball arenas hold. And many other events that just could not be held in open air venues.

You're forgetting the absolute worst of the worst:

One of the most horrific venues in all of sports.

I have been hearing a lot of gushing quotes like this about Chad Henne coming out of the Jags front office lately. Kind of scares me a little bit. I just don't see how a team with 16 touchdown passes total last season is in any position to not be thinking quarterback first in the draft, especially if Teddy happens to still be available.

QuoteCaldwell told Prisco that he hasn't yet spoken with any of the top quarterback prospects, and that he's just beginning his evaluations. Still, for the umpteenth time this offseason, Caldwell sang the praises of quarterback Chad Henne.

"We have a lot of issues," Caldwell said. "We have a lot of places we need to get better. Chad did a pretty admirable job for us. He was .500 in his last eight games. It was his first year in the system. Just because he's a veteran doesn't mean you know the system. He has good leadership skills. Guys rallied around him. Our feeling is if we can upgrade the offensive line, get some playmakers, improve the running game, I think he can sustain us and be our starter until somebody presents himself."
