They had already lost six games at that point.  They aren't going to a bowl game.  It's pretty hopeless at that point and a well run option is a pretty difficult offensive set to stop when your defense is out of position.

Georgia Southern was 6-4 and had lost over 10 players to injuries this season....there is no excuse for Florida losing that game

Well I tried.  I thought my Cane's going belly up against Duke and VT were bad but losing to GSU is like losing to FAMU's team instead of the band.  Totally unacceptable.

Firing Muschamp would be an almost no brainer, but like I said, he has an $8 million buyout. I'm sure UF can pay it with no problem, but it certainly makes the decision more difficult. It also may not be the best year to be looking for a big time coach with USC and possibly Texas in the same market. There also aren't as many hot names for big time programs as there usually are.

I have a UF buddy who also thinks Foley doesn't want to set a precedent that one bad year gets you canned at UF. He said after the UF fans kind of turned on Meyer after winning 2 titles, some coaches were hesitant about taking the job when Muschamp was hired. If Muschamp gets let go after an injury riddled year, it may make it even more difficult to get an elite coach.

I'll agree with this except that I don't think people really turned against Meyer. Some were upset about his indecision whether to coach the team or not...but certainly nothing to do with his ability.

Gator fans acting irrationally?  Impossible!

Locally they've been nothing but angels with respect to the employment prospects of their former quarterbacks.

On the bright side, I didn't watch the game but the final score is a lot closer than I expected it to be.

Take that Nick Saban! Couldn't write a better ending to a game for a better guy.

Holy crap!!! Auburn beat Bama on a long run back with no time left in regulation!!! Whatta Iron Bowl!!! Looks like we might have a Meyer vs Fisher championship!

I see some FSU fans already saying they wanted Bama to prove something. F**k that. You don't get a platinum ring or 2 national titles for beating Bama. Flags fly forever. I want a 3rd flag flying over Doak.

agreed...sad thing is they will probably be ranked #4 tomorrow...and if Auburn and Ohio State lose in their championship games, Bama will still play for the national title

well Florida's passing defense was #2 in the country....and hey, they are the only team to hold the Noles under 40 this year!
