Is anyone here old enough to remember when this was a hospital?  I was born there 50+ years ago.  Back then, it was called Pureal Medical Center.  (I have no idea where that name came from).  Sort of creepy to ride past there, but nostalgia sometimes wins out - more often around my birthday. There was a Dr. Bergh, who delivered me and was also my pediatrician for a number of years - (don't ask me how that worked back then, either).  Later, he was joined by a young Dr. Stephens,  who never made me get "shots", so I liked him just fine!  If anyone remembers it or happens to have photos of it, it would be great if you would post something, please?

I don't recall the hospital, but for creepy you can't beat what I knew as "the Ape Farm," also on Kingsley. It was actually the Yerkes Primate Laboratory, which eventually moved to Atlanta.

I was born there in 1959...my nephew in 1976.

Hello. It's very late to answer your question now, after years have passed, but yes, I do remember it. I went there several times, for example, my tonsils were taken out there. And Dr. Bergh, now deceased, was a good friend of mine, . Did you know that he had an underground bomb shelter at Pureal?

I went to high school with the guy who now owns what was once the caretakers house for the Yerkes Primate Laboratory. He has a health food store there now called "The Granary." Below is a link of both the Granary and what was the Yerkes Labs...

GREAT find.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

My mother's primary care physician, Dr. Padmanabhan, practices in that building. When I was born in 1959, the physicians in there couldn't offer their services to black people so . . . she had to go on up to Brewster Hospital.

No question the Ape Farm, a Research Facility where events went " Wild".... Humanzee.... has played a key role in Clay County Transformation and Presence.
