Anybody else notice POZ is in beast mode this year? I would HATE to see him go. He's out there and proving his worth. Hopefully they keep him around. I just admire any player whose out there giving 150%.

I'll be okay with keeping Poz next year. Poz definitely leaves everything out on the field when he plays. He's a freaking tackling machine. Although my main concern about him is his coverage (particularly against TEs, and RBs out in the flat).

Everbank improvements pass the committee today with one no vote. To be voted for final vote at regularly scheduled council meeting tonight.

"Why wouldn't they move? I would if I were them." c/m Joost on Jaguars' commitment to #Jacksonville......Our leadership in this city Y'all..

seriously?

Seriously! Our own city council doesn't even believe in our city.

Joost has been the only no vote. He was the only no vote the other day also. One monkey doesnt stop the show. On to the council meeting tonight

What so stupid about his comments is that if the team wanted to move, they would not be asking for upgrades. Citing "stadium issues" would be an easy out at the end of the lease. That are so fucking stupid, well Joost is anyways.

That means the money to finance the bonds will come from a tax on hotel rooms paid by visitors. Yes, the same visitors who watch the Jaguars and the opposing team on television. The same fans from Indianapolis or Buffalo who see the river, the waving palm trees and the short-sleeved shirts and shorts of the fans hanging around a water feature that would be frozen outside their door.

That money will not come from property tax revenues or any fees paid by local taxpayers.

Although not common knowledge and not communicated well enough, by law, these bed tax funds can not be used to fund libraries or other city services.

Amazing how few people seem to grasp this concept when discussing the video boards.

I think the majority of them are willfully ignorant of the concept, taking advantage of every opportunity to regard sports and anyone associated therewith as barbarian morons while congratulating themselves on how cultured and well-informed they are.

Well it got approved, so suck it Joost and Redman. They were the only two to vote against it.

Redman voted NO cause Jags didn't sign Tebow right?

tufsu1

I'm comfortable with Council voting for this, but as the Atlanta Braves situation shows, at some point cities are going to have to man up and say NO to these sports teams.

I just watched Actionnews, and the idiot Stephen Joost voted nay because he's one of these conspiracy "Jags might be moving in the near future" fear mongerers; He's afraid of that worst case scenario with the taxpayers still being on the hook with no team here.  Embarrassing, what more does Khan have to do to prove his commitment to Jax? These "Jags are leaving town" conspiracy people are morons yeah, I said it. Luckily sanity prevailed on the city council, SMDH...

and that Idiot Redman asking why the team didn't sign tebow.

I-10east

^^^Did he really say that at the city council vote?

People are so stupid. The EASIEST way to move the team is to NOT upgrade the stadium. This is not "flip that house". Khan can keep making upgrades to the stadium, then sell it and make a profit if he moves the team. He's been sinking money into that stadium and the franchise since day one, and that stadium is something he can not take with him if the team moves. If it were Bank Of America Field, different story as their stadium is owned by the team. Luckily, Khan knows that there are doubters and nay sayers, and he even said he him self that he has spent his entire life being doubted and criticized. The man is not a billionare based on his good looks and mustache, he has tough skin as well. One thing I learned about life is that you can not EVER please everybody.
