Chopstick Charleys

Has anyone ever eaten at Chopstick Charleys on Phillips Highway? Just curious.

This is near where I grew up off phillips & univ. It's been there since at least I was in my mid teens (almost 30 now), which is when I first noticed it. I've NEVER seen anyone go in there and yes, i do believe it's attached to one of those notorious phillips hwy motels. You haven't lived until you've delivered pizzas to the gator lodge!

I'll stop by one day and see what the story is.

I just checked it on the health inspector website and they do have an active license, so it must be open.

When I was a kid in the '50s, Chopsticks was the only southside Chinese restaurant around. They had good food and nice decor. It looks a lot worse now.

When I was a kid in the '60s, we used to go to the Golden Dragon on Beach Blvd near Southside Blvd. I think the building is the office of a used car lot now.

I've wondered if this place was the front for some shady business for years..Never had the courage to step inside though!
