Will a mod please remove Mtrain's rants? They violate the forum rules and I'm sure the only purpose they'll serve is embarrassing him when he calms down.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

The Jags are terrible, and yet, you choose to defend them. IDIOTS!!!! You are westside, you and the rest of the retards! They suck!  Good luck with the number 1 pick. You might was well pick your nose with your pick!

Maybe a real coach returns to rescue the team, till then, Gabbert is a loser! If you follow him, you are a loser too!

Idiots!

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN ON OFFENSE UNTIL BLACKMON RETURNS. Shorts SUCKS (3 of 11 for 40 yards). NICE! He lead the team today. GET A FREAKING CLUE PEOPLE!
Listen please ask you Doctor tomorrow for a prescription for your lack of Home Team Support? It's the first game of the new season. It started off good with the blocked kick and the safety. And sure things went downhill from there. But you shouldn't say the things you did.  :(

What happened to you? Did you have a stroke? This time last year, you somewhat resembled normalcy...

On another note, I don't like Gabbert, at all. Really, I just don't think he's a QB worthy of an NFL team. THAT BEING SAID...today wasn't Gabbert's fault. Manning, Brady, et al, could not have survived with an O-line that bad. Dropped passes, too. Defense wasn't half bad, considering how awful special teams (field position) was.

Silver lining: at least we know where our problems lie.

Today I think I've suffered my first doubts of Gabbert's ability. I've been a solid supporter of him since coming to Jax, but today was not the same guy that played in public practice or even beginning preseason. Idk what got in his head, but he appeared more worried about getting hit/sacked then throwing the ball down the field. I try really hard not to be an armchair or Monday morning quarterback, but today was just a disappointing showing. I am surprised that they didn't put Henne in after the half, Jags were already 2-21 so nothing to lose. I don't think Henne is better by any means, but it was obvious Gabbert wasn't in the zone today.

All that being said, my tweet after the game shows my attitude:

No way.  I don't think that I have any rights regarding this, but since I did start this thread, I'd like that jackass to stick around and keep posting.  For a couple of reasons.....

1.)  Typically his semi-incoherent rants somewhat amuse me.  Besides, they're typically factually incorrect, are based in pure, unadulterated incorrect opinion and serve as the easy, low hanging fruit for me to counter without actually having to work for it.

2.)  Today.  He is justified in his incoherent, rambling, misguided rant, because from our first offensive drive to our last offensive drive, our team sucked absolute balls. Our defense showed some flashes, but other than those fleeting moments, we couldn't play our way out of a paper bag in any of the three phases of the game.

So let MTrain have his day.  Hell, I stayed from the kickoff to the game ending booing that our team deserved.  That was a complete clusterfuck of a game.  They deserve to get trashed.  They didn't show us anything to be hopeful for.

But.....

I was there for the preseason.  I've been there for the last 8 seasons.   Today wasn't a good day.  Period.  That doesn't mean that the other 15 days won't be.  I'm not going to apologize or make excuses for anyone.  No ONE person could have saved us today, this was a complete TEAM failure from top to bottom.  It was horrendous to watch, and I (unlike what was insinuated) was there, and will be there for the next game on the 29th.  And you know what?  They might suck then too, and, justifiably, we can boo them and berate them and call them garbage, but it still won't fix any of it.

Part of being a FAN is that you're also allowed to berate the team you root for when they don't do shit.  The mental anguish fades away.  Tomorrow still might sting a bit, but come Saturday evening, there will always be that hope that maybe tomorrow....  maybe tomorrow they'll play like I know they can.  And I'll be there to cheer them on.

Because when this is happening....

there's always hope.

BTW, Mtrain, when you sober up and read this tomorrow...

Go Fuck Yourself.

Thanks, and have a good night.  ;D

I remember when our home stadium used to be a house of horrors for opposing teams. Chris Berman (not a fan of this guy, or virtually anyone in the nat'l sports media for obvious reasons) used to say "ALLTEL Stadium (then) where the Jags know all and tell all". Fast forward to the present, and we consistently get our asses handed to us in that place. In contrast, on the road we play competitively, with only a few blowouts. Check out some the 2012 road games.

JAX at MIN 23-26 L
JAX at IND 22-17 W
JAX at OAK 23-26 L
JAX at GB 15-24 L
JAX at HOU 37-43 L (OT)

In our last three games at home in 2012, we finally started to play feisty.

TEN at JAX 24-19 W
NYJ at JAX 17-10 L
NE at JAX 23-16 L

The Chiefs defense ain't no freaking joke. That will most likely be the best D that we face all year. The majority of the offensive blunders can be contributed to a combo of Gabbert's cluelessness in deciphering that complex defensive scheming, and that horrific O-line play; The postgame radio show on 690AM said that Uche N. played the best on the line. Both of those offensive tackles got their collective asses handed to them.

Although the D play wasn't great by no means, and A Smith barely had any pressure on him, they didn't play all of that terribly with virtually a shutout in the second half, and taking those costly near-Jags goalline  turnovers into consideration. Our O was completely over-matched. Their defenders were completely blanketing our WRs; I told my boy that it looked like Tenn Tech vs Alabama or something. I'm looking forward to some surprising upgraded Jags gameplay away from home, with these two games on the West coast.

One thing that continues to impress me is the youth of the Jaguars fan base. I am in my early 30's and am starting to feel like an old guy at some of the tailgates and in the stands. It is great to see so many young people embracing the team despite their decade of mediocrity.
