Ya gotta wonder... Is he still mad about not getting a new contract last year?

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/23477414/maurice-jonesdrew-thought-about-retiring-during-training-camp

QuoteMany folks expect 2011 leading NFL rusher Maurice Jones-Drew to have a bounceback year after a nightmarish 2012 that was marred by a holdout and shortened by injury. But 2013, MJD says, almost didn't happen.

The running back said at practice on Wednesday, via the indispensable John Oehser of Jaguars.com, that he thought to himself several times during training camp that he couldn't "do this anymore."

"There were a couple days during camp where I was like, 'I don't know if I can do this anymore,'" Jones-Drew said. "Once the pain subsides and soreness goes away you're ready to roll again. You fought through those first couple weeks. You were all saying I felt great. I had to lie to myself too and say that as well. Now I feel good. I'm ready to get out there and play."

MJD's not far removed from a really impressive season. He ran for 1,606 yards in 2011 with Blaine Gabbert, as a rookie, under center and virtually no other weapons at the Jaguars disposal. That team was a trainwreck and a half outside of Jones-Drew.

So it's fantastic that MJD also said "I feel great" and that he could manage "as many [carries] as it takes" on Sunday when the Jaguars open up the season.

Running back youth is one of the more fleeting things in the NFL. At the ripe old age of 28, Jones-Drew is already on the downside of his career.

He's not done yet, though. MJD should have a few strong years left in the tank and, if he feels as good as he claims right now, he could certainly end up proving the doubters wrong at least one more time.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Lol, dude's still pissed that he wasn't drafted in the first round 7 years ago, so yeah, I think he might be able to hold a grudge. ;D

Okay maybe its early or Im missing it, how does he sound mad? I think were reading to much into this. Im lost on this one. All he did was talk about how he doubted his self because of his injury. umm... how does he sound mad?

I guess we will find out.  His "not sure I want to do this anymore" doesnt sound like someone who is all in.  Is it just me or does he look a bit over weight?

I think I saw recently that he was still at 218 and trying to get down further?  He's been listed at 208 for years.

If he was saying it, just to say it thats a different story. But the past few years have been rough for him, some of self inflicted of course. Were all human and we get just tired, its life. I know there are plenty of days I come into my job and say the same thing, and Ive been hear for 8 years. LOL As far as his weight, I dont think he looks over weight. He actually looks much smaller than he did in the offseason.

DD, you and the other progressive lovers of this team, are.....idiots! These guys (Jaguars) SUCK! They showed it today, this is a QB league and Gabbert Sucks! Shorts Sucks too, because if he was worth CRAP, he would have been able to single handidly save the team today, but he sucks! The Defense Sucks too. Branch especially sucks. Can't stop a team inside the 25 yard line in the first half. NO QB pressure when it counts!

This team looks like they are playing in the preseason. THEY SUCK! I was there in the stadium, compared to the Armchair TROLLS who sat on their asses and never made it inside, so they can suck it as far as I am concerned. It was far worse inside, in the heat of the stadium with that piss poor performance.

Gabbert has to go! Smith was the right choice and KC made it, we sucked it up and stayed with Gabbert, it shows!

And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

The Jags are terrible, and yet, you choose to defend them. IDIOTS!!!! You are westside, you and the rest of the retards! They suck!  Good luck with the number 1 pick. You might was well pick your nose with your pick!

Maybe a real coach returns to rescue the team, till then, Gabbert is a loser! If you follow him, you are a loser too!

Idiots!

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN ON OFFENSE UNTIL BLACKMON RETURNS. Shorts SUCKS (3 of 11 for 40 yards). NICE! He lead the team today. GET A FREAKING CLUE PEOPLE!

Well that was painful.  was hoping they would be competitive, but it is the first game of the season, will just have to ride it out.  Bad part is I have season tickets, don't live in jax so give them away.  Worse part is I bought NFL ticket on directTV to watch that steaming pile today.
