^^^Angie's has been on that 'Tebow will save the Jags' crap from the get go, just like the good ole' boys at Morgan & Morgan. Gotta take 'those types' with a grain of salt. Remember, Angie's Subs is the same establishment that endorsed Michele Bachmann of all people for president.

As Dick Allen of the Washington Redskins said to Richard Nixon's request to call in a play, "Politics don't belong with Sports".

I-10east

^^^Fair enough, although I didn't know that her being president was even serious political debate, even with republicans.

Pretty powerful endorsement.

Surprised it didn't clinch the election for Bachmann :D

In order to sign He Who Shall Not Me Named, the Patriots had to release backup QB Mike Kafka to create a roster spot.

The Jaguars immediately claimed Kafka.

If he makes the final roster, I am going to run out of Metamorphosis jokes.

shhhhhhhh  ;D

The Patriots choose to release backup QB Mike Kafka.

I would release him for TEBOW too.

Did the Jaguars immediately claim Kafka to save face?

"Circle of Life"

The Jags 'had" to drop Matt Veldman to get Mike Kafka.

BSC, your sarcasm perplexes me, though I should be used to the pedantry by now.

By "had" I simply meant that if a team wants to sign a player at this juncture in the offseason, they must release someone in order to clear a roster spot.  So, yes, they "had" to drop a player in order to sign another.

It was all a setup for a gratuitous Franz Kafka joke anyway.

^And a setup that was well worth it it was. I wanna know why Angie's didn't endorse Tebow for Prez, after all Chuck Norris could've brought in a lot of votes.

Dude, that was epic.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Demosthenes

Tebowites in Jacksonville have this astonishingly dumb idea that Tebow is going to challenge Brady, or at least is now the heir-apparent, which is laughable. Does their world implode if Tebow doesn't make the patriots 52 man roster?

Tebow is a "star"....

LOL, it was done to limit media access under NFL rules. They will probably get fined for labeling a 3rd string QB a "star".

As a result of the Boston marathon bombing, the NFL has banned PURSES, coolers, fanny packs, etc.

What a load of shit.

THANKFULLY, we'll be able to purchase clear plastic bags from the league with our favorite team's logo on them.

Is this really the kind of cowering society we want to live in?

QuoteThe NFL announced a change to its bag policy Thursday and beginning with the 2013 season, only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags will be permitted inside NFL stadiums.

Under the new policy, fans will be allowed to bring one bag into stadiums and that bag must be clear and not exceed 12 inches by six inches by 12 inches.

Chanel, Prada and Gucci might not be on board with the new policy, which will prohibit purses from NFL stadiums. Small clutch bags are still permitted, as long they're no bigger than "the size of a hand."

"Our fans deserve to be in a safe and secure environment," NFL vice president and chief security officer Jeffrey Miller said in a statement. "Public safety is our top priority. This will make the job of checking items much more efficient and effective. We will be able to deliver a better and quicker experience at the gates and also provide a safer environment. We appreciate our fans' cooperation."

Here's a list of items from the NFL that you will not be allowed to bring into stadiums: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Just to be clear: You can still bring a camera, binoculars or a tablet into the stadium, you just can't bring any of those items in a non-clear bag.

So what can you bring into an NFL stadium this year? Here's a picture of a transparent tote bag that would be permissible under the new policy. It's not very fashionable, especially if you don't like the Giants.

This is lame since the NFL already requires a hand check of every bag going onto the premise.

This is a complete and total over reaction.

There is no way anyone is going to import a Braun pressure cooker into a backpack and get it inside an NFL game.

They try harder to get people to buy tickets, try harder to make the tickets cost effective and have value, then on the flip side do this to destroy value.

Someone said the NFL will be obsolete in 30 years. The stadiums can't get any bigger, can't get more fancier, get more secure and seat prices can't continue to outpace inflation along with player salaries.

Something has to give.

MEGATRON

Not sure this is overreaction.  The threat of something like this occurring is very real.
