Hanna fails Melody Bishop's question about the streets and sidewalks. I believe she was asking about their role in terms of urban redevelopment. He responded that compared to New Orleans the streets are in great shape. No potholes! Sidewalks? He'll need more time to walk them.

+10......

Hmmm, one trick pony.

It should be clear there is a recurring theme with both of these candidates.

Mike Saylor asks if the development authority was the master developer for Atlantic Station. The answer is no. From what I can understand, they were responsible for the creation of the TAD.

Wow, that's concerning.  Someone who doesn't care about street level interaction and context.  We already have a ton of those types running around here  ::)

Hanna helped create a housing trust fund in Philadelphia. This was done to leverage federal dollars with local money.

He seems to be a management level guy. No real experience mentioned so far, when it comes to the design basics of DT revitalization. He seems to know a lot about HUD financing. Used funds to HUD money for a Ritz Charlton in Philly.

q) How do we position jacksonville to take advantage of state and federal funds?
a) Not everything is a competition for money.  for instance, historic tax rates. Jacksonville may not take full advantage rates.

She asked a similar question at the recent panel discussion on the future of urban architecture.  In the context of the last discussion she meant it to find out whether or not the emphasis is on street interactions and people or if it is on architectural elements.
yeah. He completely struck out on that one. However, he is right. Our streets are pretty smooth.

Appears to be. A decision to select is supposed to happen today, right before lunch.

Opinion of TOD in Jacksonville. Said he helped work to prepare the Lindbergh Station site for TOD in Atlanta. He's a big fan! I am too!
