Agree wholeheartedly with Megatron.  Many, many good RBs are later-round picks and the position is becoming more and more fungible in the NFL.  Guys like Peterson are rare specimens who deserve the high pick; on the other hand, what New Orleans did in throwing away picks for Mark Ingram was not bright (not that he's not a decent back, but he's not a super-special one and they didn't even need him).

I'm disappointed about Jennings.  He was someone I thought would go much higher than the 7th in 2009 and I thought we had a real steal there.  Of course he played well in his limited opportunities in 2009-10, but he's been very disappointing this year.  I thought he'd answer the bell and do a decent job as the starter.  Too bad, because he's a heck of a nice and inspiring guy and I wanted him to be a long-term contributor in Jacksonville.

I think they are not using Jennings properly. I noticed Jennings is good on the outside, and keep running him up the middle. We cant use him the same way we use MJD. He is a different type of back. On the flip side, I think thats why Parmele is having some sucess. He built somewhat like MJD and is going up the middle and moving the pile. Just my thoughts on it. But I agree. There area TON of good backs out there and no need to waste a high pick one.

DE, LB or CB is what we need in the first round. Even a O-lineman, though I'm sure that wouldn't be the 'sexy' pick. I'm just concerned about WHO's going to be making the picks. I think I'm more excited to see about how the off-season is going to play out than the rest of this season.

We definately need offensive lineman. We cant overlook that at all.  I feel depth is the worse at Offensive lineman and linebacker. We have some depth at DE now, so I dont see that being a HUGE need, although an elite pass rusher would be nice. And it is time to start addressing cornerback. The depth is thinning out back there.

It's pretty clear that we will have a top five pick. Jarvis Jones would be nice, especially is the new coaching staff is going to run a 3-4. He is an absolute monster at UGa.

Lane and Brach have potential as stand up rush ends. Alualu has the right frame to be a three technique, as does Mosley.

If we're already lacking depth at LB, why in the world would a new coach even consider switching up to a 3-4?

That is why I mentioned Lane and Branch moving to LB.

I guess I have potential to become a powerful land mogul, but I've never done it before...

I can't speak for Lane, but I watched Branch when he was with Clemson.  Their defense, if that's what you can call it...  Seriously?!?  48 point to NC State..., is a 4-3 - he's had his hand on the ground forever.  Not saying it can't be done, only wondering why you think he could.

He was mentioned a 3-4 backer at the next level going into the draft last year.

Mathis and Freeney, though hurt for a good chunk of the season, seem to be both having down years after the switch.

I guess in the spirit of full disclosure, I'm not a big fan of the 3-4.  I like the 4-3.  I think ours would be fine with both Session (essentially a nickel back at LB) and Smith on the field.

I think it's a wrap for Sessions. D. Smith hasn't come back yet either huh? I wonder how they are going to handle that contract situation.

Bridges

Wouldn't hold out much hope for Sessions.  Dude has some serious head issues now.  Might not play again.  Unfortunate.
So I said to him: Arthur, Artie come on, why does the salesman have to die? Change the title; The life of a salesman. That's what people want to see.

I also don't think Session will ever play again. I think Daryl Smith might be back on a Rashean one-year farewell deal. In the offseason, linebacker has to be one of the bigger concerns along with corner and right tackle.

I see us retaining Daryl and adding at least two more experienced LBs.  The dropoff with Session and Daryl out is hurting badly.  I've had way too many "Daryl would've made that play" moments this year, and the LBs have struggled badly in coverage against tight ends (which Houston exploited to the hilt).
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

MEGATRON

Sessions is done.  Many teams were looking at Branch as a 3-4 OLB although, yes, it would be a new position for him.   He's a very good athlete though.

Yeah Darryl will be back. It wouldnt be wise to let your best, and consistent linebacker go because they missed one season (out of 8 seasons) with a grion injury. Now if his performance falls off next year, then it would be time to dicuss letting him go. And your right Wacca, the linebacker got burned by Houston in the 4th Q. The backfield was doing their job, but the linebacker were getting torched left and right. Sessions and Smith would have shut that down quick.
