I think there are only five to choose from...

1. A&P, park and Ingleside
2. Gate, Stockton
3. BP, Stockton
4. that one off of King, next to Panda House.
5. shell, in five points

the A&P and the gate station are my go to places. The a&p because that's where you go to learn about the latest trends in teen drug use. the gate gas station, when you want a kiddie pool full of pop and the convenience of impersonal commerce.

I stopped going to that one off of king st. when I had what can only be a middle eastern conversation about how I was disappointing my parents and failing in life. I was driving a BMW at the time, not a Mercedes, as is the standard...okay, it was a clunker of a bmw... "you're only buying regular fuel and not premium...such a shame...such a shame."

The few times i have gone to the shell station the cashier is always on the phone and a dialogue of confusion ensues. I've been to the BP once.

I think the only decent one is the Gate on Stockton. I've always been disappointed with the others. I liked the Smoker's Express on Margaret street, but that closed :(

The Kangaroo at McDuff and 17.. All of the staff are friendly, and the people watching is hilarious every time I go in there. The gas may not be the cheapest, but it's closest to my house and the most convenient to get on the highway.

Yes indeed.

That's one of the nicer area gas stations.

It's clean and the employees are friendly. It's also not officially in Riverside/Avondale which is what the op was looking for.

I said "area," though I think you're nit-picking. Thanks, though.

First Coast Bio-Fuels in Lake City!   ;D

Out of the neighborhood, but we run the Jetta TDI on B-20, 20% bio-diesel and there is no one in Jacksonville who sells it.  We take six, five-gallon cans with us and it lasts 6-8 weeks before we have to go back.

They also sell E-85 if you have a Flexfuel vehicle.
When all else fails hug the dog.

That's awesome. Do you find it difficult getting fuel?

Did he move his operations?  He used to have a wharehouse here in town?

The Gate gas station in Fleming Island(just over the Dr Inlet Bridge on Roosevelt) and there is a gas station off I-10 in MacClenny that sells E-85 at the pump.

I used to buy E-85 and C12 in 55 gallon drums quite often.

John supplies JEA, JTA and the Navy here in Jax with B-10, B-20, and B-99 as well as E-15 and E-85,  but doesn't have a retail outlet in Duval County.  You want 2000 gallons and he delivers.

What's C12?

No, we can always use regular, straight petro-diesel if we can't find B-20 and outside Florida a surprising number of stations have it available for the truckers who like it.

Otherwise we just make the trek to Lake City every six or eight weeks.  Living where we do walking and bicycling is easy and even if we have to take the car, distances are short and the Jetta's mileage, even in town, is insane.
