We can't forget about Engine 13. Although I think they are more of a brew pub, does anyone know if they have plans to distribute their beer?

I don't know how they're set up, but a brewpub won't be able to distribute outside their premises. There are laws against distribution breweries and pubs having the same owners.

It makes things harder for some brewpubs, but at the same time it prevents the huge international conglomerates from setting up a bunch of pubs that sell only their beer, as you see a lot in the UK with "tied houses".
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

There is also a new brewery called Mile Marker Brewing in St. Augustine.  It is not in the old city but near the outlets.  I have not been there nor have I tried any of their brews.

I don't know much about Mile Marker, but they do have their beer in some places in St. Johns and one or two in Jax. At any rate i'm pleased with the rate in which breweries are popping up in the area. Can't say I'm impressed with their Key West themed branding though.

Article and few pics at my blog... Beers are tasty. I hear they have a Coconut Stout on tap right now...

Haha, no, but if you're going with Florida themed branding, I'd prefer something more reflective of your part of Florida (like Cigar City does with Tampa), rather than a tourist's idea of what "Florida" is like based on a part of the state about as far away from yours as possible.

So what's your view on Jacksonville's Florida? Just curious, because I've heard different views.

I don't really know how to answer that. In cases like this where you're banking on the cachet of being a local company, I'd rather see local references in the branding, rather than all references specific to the Keys, which are hundreds of miles away. To me their branding comes off as hoakey.

That's certainly not to knock them too bad. I'm definitely glad to see a local business do well.
