As the season approaches we will have to get something together.

I know Wacca can't make it due to tax hell, but how would ya'll feel about a draft party at the Landing?

The draft's after April 15 and I've come down for draft weekend once before, so (barring someone else's post-tax season claim on me), it's theoretically possible I could make that...

I'm definitely in. I've always felt that draughts and parties go better together.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

Just heard Mr. Khan on 1010XL and he said that the Black uni's will be back this upcoming season and also the Jaguars will be the "flagship" and FIRST team with an all new Nike uniform which will go into effect for the 2013 season.

Also he said that all Black will be the team's primary uniform combo. Teal will become the 3rd color of the team, with Black and White being the first two.

Yeaaaa the black is back. I like change very much! And I just Goodell announced they are expanding Thursday Night Football from weeks 2 to 15, that way every team has a chance to get the exposure on a regular basis. So much for the theory that if you have a losing season, you wont get prime time games. Prime time games are about match ups anyways, not about a teams record.

QuoteNDIANAPOLIS -- What started on Nov. 23, 2006, when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Denver Broncos 19-10 at Arrowhead Stadium, will expand in 2012.

"Thursday Night Football" games will be played from Weeks 2 to 15 next season, increasing the number of contests broadcast on NFL Network from eight to 13.

"This will result in every team appearing in Thursday football games and every team having a prime-time appearance throughout the season," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said at his annual state-of-the-NFL news conference Friday at the Super Bowl XLVI media center.

Goodell sees the expanded "Thursday Night Football" schedule as positive for all parties.

"We think it's great for the fans," Goodell said. "We think it's great for the teams because everyone will get that prime-time exposure, and we think it's great for the network. The network continues to do an incredible job of promoting our sport, our game, and giving the fans an opportunity, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to get NFL football. They've shown how much they want to see football."

NFL Network still isn't available to all viewers, though. The league will work to make sure providers such as Cablevision and Time Warner Cable include it in their offerings to consumers.

"Every cable operator, other than the two, has seen that with their customers," Goodell said of NFL Network's popularity "We'll continue to work with them. We'll continue to try to get an agreement. The market has spoken. The NFL Network's here, and it's going to continue to grow."

Goodell addressed a wide variety of other topics Friday:

I'm sorry but I hate the fact that over the past few years all of these teams (Jags included) come out with these black uniforms. If you're not the Steelers (black/gold) or the Raiders (silver/black) where black is your primary uniform color - then stop trying to be a wannabe. I'm a Jags fan but they should be wearing TEAL, not black. The black uniform above looks like a AFL team.
It's a money grab and I think tradition should mean something - your primary color is TEAL - wear it damn it.

I totally agree, esp now knowing that black is the primary uniform color of 2013. I'm stunned that Khan is gonna change the primary uniforms to black(home) and white(road) with the teal jerseys being the third choice. Why don't we just go on ahead and strip the gold and teal from the Jags head too, and make that black, and white. I don't like this at all, I mean, how many controversial, and questionable decisions/comments is one man gonna make in a matter of one month? 'Real fans are season ticket holders' to 'I would've drafted Tebow' to primary black unis! What's next, a blue fake playing surface like Boise State! I'm starting to think that we have a loose cannon as an owner! I initally thought that the black unis were cute for one or two times for prime time games, but I never would've imagined that they would be the primary color! Nothing says 'strong identity' than the highly vivid colors that are black and white. To think, I was a lil' ticked when Weaver kill'd off the gold in the unis, now Khan officially will kill the identity of the Jags; Make no mistake, the identity is (and should be) gold & teal, not black & white. People used to comment on how good the first jerseys with teal & gold in them looked; Those days are definitely over. There's a reason that the Packers, 49ers etc don't switch to black as a primary color, it's something that's called an identity! I'm still all in as a hardcore Jag fan no matter what, but I'm starting to seriously question the decision making of our new owner.

I don't get why anyone would care what color the uniforms are.  If black uni's sell a few tickets, great.  I just want to see the home team win games.

Is it just me or do you guys also felt more comfortable wearing a black jaguars uniform on to the street than the teal unis?

Thats what Im saying. When we had our black uniforms the team had a different vibe for some odd reason. They actually had some swagg. Not to mention they were playing their asses off at the times.

You're definitely not the first person I've heard say that.

I like the look of the black jersey and have lots of good memories of some great games in the black (375, Monday night shutout of the Steelers, Monday night against the Giants), but I side more with I-10 East on this.  Not many teams have teal as a primary color anymore (just us and the San Jose Sharks, I guess) and I think the teal and gold jerseys looked great.  That and teal is so much a part of our identity, e.g. Teal Town, Tealgates, Team Teal, the color of the stadium seats, and so forth.  As good as the black jerseys looked, it's hard to build a unique identity around wearing black when other teams have long since beaten us to it.  Teal on black should look great, though, so I just hope the teal isn't completely sublimated in the new uniform.

I really miss the gold too.  It looked great, it was reasonably close to the color of an actual tawny jaguar, and it was real gold, not the yellow that the Steelers and Redskins delusionally call gold.  I think the current jerseys have a good, clean look that is modern without being overly futuristic, but they have nothing on the old jerseys with the gold accents and the gold cat on the sleeve.

I understand wanting to have some swagg in the jerseys but I would rather we accomplished that with more gold and a black alternate than going to primarily black, diminishing teal, and ignoring gold altogether.  Gold on black looks good, so it'd be awfully nice to bring back more gold accents too.

He's owner the team for less than two months and you can see Khan's vision starting. I loved the Weavers and everything they did for the city and the team. But Khan just seems to think bigger.

We definately need some teal or accents in the black uniforms. Im anxious to see the finish products,
