I would caution that there is nothing to indicate this list is complete, or contains every formal track house.

These appear to be the ones they have funding for, or the desire to move forward with at this time. Until we are able to verify the answer to this question, I would not assume this list is comprehensive. Indeed over 20 were approved for "Formal Track" by the HPC, but only 14 properties are on this list.

I just went by 1925 Liberty, since it is around the corner from where I live - that house does NOT need to come down!  Its just outrageous

All houses are still standing.
Re funding:
I am told "that decision has not  been made yet." this from MCCD

Patterson Apts. is on the list of 14.
So make that 13 on the list.

Way back when when Folio gave the kudos for "stopping" the "139" demolitions, the 139 was referring to the "unsafe structures list for 32206"  those are the "13th hour houses" or "11th hour," depending whether you are for safety or preservation.

Any one of those could be on the formal track that doesn't exist.

I don't think it is NSP money either iloveionia

How on earth is this being funded?  Any idea?

Quote from: iloveioniaApparently something demoed is being chainsawed on E. 5th, something also on the alley.
I think it may actually be a house?
You know the house on Ionia, with the old LISC sign in front of it?  Not very attractive in its current state, green and boarded up?  Next to the ONH bungalow? On the north side of the bungalow.  There is a house behind it, I think the address is 1340 Ionia.  Technically these are two houses on two separate lots, but it is one house in front of the other.  It's a split lot with no front access.  It sold several years ago for 13k.  Is it that one?  The house is only accessible from the alley.  I believe the bottom half is block construction and the top is cedar shake.  The block is white, the shake dark green.
It's the garage apartments behind 422 E 5th, they were condemned and the person living in one of them was told to leave. It's Sandra's relatives that have been staying in there and they're the ones who have been doing some demolition on their own, but the building is still there. The chainsaw is them cutting down trees on their property

The City is cutting jobs....but miraculously has money to bulldoze historic homes.

Now something is wrong with this picture :(

iloveionia

I thought Sandra's was 3 houses on a lot.
I wish she wouldn't have moved.

Why can't they use the money to secure the houses until someone appears who can make productive use of them?

To demolish those structures is so short sighted.

second_pancake

Why aren't the homes being sold at auction?  If it's good enough for a mortgage company, it should be good enough for the city.  Surely, it would offset some of the money they've already put into securing the properties and would certainly keep them from having to spend more on demolition.  Not to mention, just cause there isn't a house on the property doesn't mean it doesn't have to be maintained.  The city would still be responsible for mowing and fencing.

Why does the city WANT these places destroyed? Who the hell is in a position of power that wants to find monies to level buildings that are clearly not posing any danger?

In a time where this money could be used to employ people who need jobs , they are mowing down buildings.  STUPID.
