Jags VS Saints Reactions

We had opportunities to win (or at the least, score) in the 4th qtr, but our red zone offense was poor. That should be the focus for the rest of the season.

The D played well enough.

Get a speed burner wide out/flanker/h-back for the outside and that would be nice too.

Not a lot of imagination in our offense. Opposing teams can key on MJD and if they can stop him what else do we have??

Del Rio needs to go. End of story. 4th and 5 on the opening drive and he goes for it. Bush league. Did anyone else notice that some of the little arrows on the field next to the numbers were painted in the wrong direction?

I eventually just figured that JDR was following them to the middle of the field, got confused, then called MJD up the middle (off tackle right of course).

I like our Defense though...

Yeah I noticed the arrows it through me off a few times.

The arrows made it on to Yahoo sports.  Looks like it may be the only way our team will get noticed this year.

The Jags have it in them to do better.  Let's hope they do better against Cincinnati next week.

Saw the B-52 flyover on TV... must have been awesome at the stadium!  Great shots of the city on the tube...
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

"The ones(arrows) on the bottom are a visual metaphor for how hard it's been for the Jags to score this season"

Oh dear, that hurts. Well atleast they were pretty funny in razzing us.  :-[ :D

Easy to blame Del Rio for that but the play before Mojo dropped a sure first down pass. Just the first of a few drops by our players.

it was a tough loss. Hopefully they cant put together a win for next Sunday. The shots of the city on TV looked great though!

A few further thoughts:

1) Despite Gabbert's lackluster numbers yesterday, after years upon years of relatively low-scoring, ground and pound football from the Jags, it was pretty exciting to see our offense throwing 42 passes yesterday afternoon. It certainly makes for entertaining football, especially when the rookie gets a little more experience under his belt.

2) Worst case scenario for this season might actually make for the best case scenario for next season. There are far worse things than the Jags taking their lumps this year with a ridiculously tough schedule, getting some miles on Gabbert, ending the season with a losing record, picking high in the draft, and starting next season fresh with a new coach.

In the event that the Jags miss the postseason, who do you guys think we should aggressively pursue for head coach in the offseason?

Del Rio is the majority of the problem. The O-line is the minority. Del Rio has created a "run only" team and it has taken its toll on us..... We need an Off season to fix this. We need offense schemes and need to draft some WR's. ANd yeah and a new coach!

If we are complaining about the decisions to go for it on fourth downs who else could we blame?

It is a field goal league even the High Power Saint's offense kicked more field goals than touchdowns.  They even attempted another.

DIRK KOETTER IS THE PROBLEM, HE HAS TO GO.  Del Rio may be a contributor by not stepping in, but Dirk's playcalling is unoriginal AND COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE.

He follows his gameplan to a fault, whether it is working or not.  He absolutely does not make "on the go" adjustments to the game's momentum and opportunities.

HOW IS IT THAT WE HAVE A PRO BOWL TIGHT END, RUNNING BACK, & quarterback that WILL be a stud in this league and we can't score points?!?!!?!?!?!?

Remember the article last year about how Garrards wife confronted Koetter about letting him roll out and not forcing him to pocket pass?  It was spun as being cute, but isn't funny at all.  How do you have an offensive coordinator that doesn't know his players strengths and weaknesses?

Why pass twice on 3rd and 2 when your running back is averaging 7 yards per carry???? HIS PLAY CALLING MAKES NO SENSE.  ALL OF THAT IS ON DIRK KOETTER.

^^ and Del Rio allows it. Which shows how clueless he is as well. They both gotta go. Im sick of this.
