Ugh.. and the hits keep on coming.. if you see a lot of police around, you can thank my girlfriend's lovely neighbor's roommate. He beat her, choked her, and cut off her finger last night. Luckily they arrested him on 4 felony counts. But is friends may be stirring around.

We were asleep last night and didn't hear a thing. Weird.

BRB, gonna hole up in my apartment with the Remington 870 express.

That is scary you didnt hear anything  :-X
Good choice in home protection btw

Bad choice!  Too much penetration for an apartment setting.  Try a 20 gauge instead.  Light enough recoil that girlfriend can use it.
When all else fails hug the dog.

No it is a good choice!
I have a 20 for hunting birds that I let people use. (rem auto)
I perfer the 12 gauge for home defence for starters although I use a M4 myself. I dont care about my walls when it comes to my or someone elses life.

always expect the worse that the lower gauge wont do the trick first shot.

Ernest Street

He meant killing 2 people with one bullet when the rifle slug goes into an adjacent apartment.

in close quarters 12 gauge bird shot will do the job with min risk to Tiffany across the hall.
besides the visual threat of looking at a 12 gauge should you be so fortunate enough to not have to pull the trigger is more so then a 20.

JSO came by my house yesterday informing me that the house two doors down from me had gotten robbed.  They wanted to know if we saw any suspicious activity.  I've been on Gilmore for about 6 months and besides this robbery it's been pretty quiet.

RiversideLoki

The GF spoke to an officer last night. Said they really are trying to step up patrols in the neighborhood. He said the crime rate has been nuts the last 6 months and they're trying to stem/get to the bottom of it. It's been mostly robberies and violent crime.

And for loadout, Winchester AA SuperSport #8 shot. Lowest probability of blowing a huge hole in the wall.

He, too wants to JOIN the RAP assisted R-2 Neighborhood Watch PRogram!

The most recent function I was aware of was the Social held at Bold City several months ago.

We DO need to band together. Give violent crime no home here.

Dog Walker

Ricker, you might want to pass on your comments about the overpass to Bob Kosoy,  bob.kosoy@dot.state.fl.us, who is the area maintainance engineer for FDOT.  They have been very responsive to neighborhood feedback and problems.

For the R-2 RAP Neighborhood Watch you want to get in touch with Kevin Kuzel, CKuzel@aol.com, who is the chair of the RAP Public Safety Committee.  The R-2 area us from College to I-10 between Stockton and King streets.
When all else fails hug the dog.

This might be appropriate here...

A friend of mine parked in the street by the Lucern apartments had his catalytic converter stolen from his car, apparently for the metals. When the repair shop called to order the new part, the distribution center told him that a used car lot had 11 stolen from them. Not sure where the lot was, but obviously it is being done here in Riverside, so keep an eye out for you and your neighbors vehicles.
