Any idea or hint to where it will be, Creekside?

Unless there is another one coming, it will be in the town center area.  I sure wouldn't mind having two though.

Does anyone know if the pub wll be open for the ACC baseball tournament?

yes..it opens on May 16th...the tourney starts on the 21st

Wonderful news, I'm sure the FSU fans alone will fill that place up.

Billbo,
If I'm correct, You're talking about BJ's which is a brewpub. (restaurant / pub brewery). I was @ one in SoCal  a couple of weeks ago and their beer is fantastic. The only downside of being a brewpub in Florida is the law does not allow you to sell your beer outside of the restaurant premises (growlers / kegs / bottles). Take 7Bridges, Ragtime, and A1A Ale Works for instance.

Well, I am very happy to know that there is another beer enthusiast among this board.  I was mentioning BJ's and was looking forward to going there.  The only downside that I noticed was that it seemed a little too family oriented (but then again I just looked at their website).  On the whole, I haven't been overly impressed w/ the beers that Ragtime has been putting out, but the brown ale from seven bridges is quite delicious.  Right now, I think Dogfish Head 90 minute is the best beer available around these parts.  When I visited Colorado, I was in beer heaven and only wish we (Jacksonvillians) could get more quality brewers around here.  Also, I will be happy to see a stand alone bar that brews as opposed to one being hidden in the massiveness that is the town centre.

Billbo,
It's funny that you mentioned the Dogfish 90, because i'm having one right now. Tried the Bell's Two-Hearted Ale? The micro will be stand alone and will distribute kegs to local restaurants and venues. It will also be outfitted with a tap room where beer can be consumed by the pint and also purchased in growlers for take home enjoyment.

Looks like I have a new beer to try out.  I'm assuming I can get it at total wine, right?  As a graduation present my buddy bought me a case of the Dogfish Head, and I'm looking forward to cracking open the first one after finals are done.  Also, I'm assuming that you are going to be the proprietor of the new microbrewery-I wish you the best of luck and promise to be there soon after opening.  Where in Riverside are you planning on opening it up?  It sounds as though your operation might be on the larger size so I'm assuming it may be near the Fidelity buildings.  In any event, I'm looking forward to it and will give you a hearty probst! once it opens.

Not sure if you can get it @ Total Wine or not. I rususally pick it up @ West Inn. Thanks for the wish of luck, we'll need it.

Gas Knob Restaurant & Pub opens today

QuoteA few weeks ago, there was mention of work being done at the former Amsterdam Sky Cafe next to Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

The work has ended, and a new eatery, Gas Knob Restaurant & Pub, will open its doors at noon today.

Gas Knob will be open for lunch and dinner every day, according to owners Ralph Tiernan and Michael Hennessy.

To get things going, there will be live music tonight by the New Orleans band Zydepunks and on Saturday by County Hell from Tallahassee.

The 4,500-square-foot restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. There will be live music starting at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday each week and a Saturday brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is also a covered patio and outdoor bar.

Does anyone have an update on this place? I drove by there the other night and it looks nowhere near ready to open anytime soon.

Same here, a large group of us agreed to meet up there Friday night @ 9pm, when we arrived we found it totally closed down. Either the times union got it wrong or something happened to delay the grand opening.

My wife and I and some friends were going to eat their after the suns game Saturday Night, so we checked it before the game, it was closed. Wasnt there a newspaper article that said they were opening the 16th?
