Went there for lunch one time also, the service was very slow. They only had one waitress working.

At least it was open when you guys went. Anytime I get a hankering for some shrimp dogs on a Saturday afternoon, they're always closed.

I didn't expect it to stay open everyday though, since there's only so many days a sporting event is going on. People just won't drive to that location for the pub alone.

It looks like this space has been converted into a sports bar.

• Speaking of the Arena, the new name of the bar next door is Jacksonville Sports Bar. In the past it’s been Amsterdam Sky Cafe and Gas Knob Pub.

I would think that a sports bar is appropriate there.

Your tickets please: Mayor John Peyton was invited to a reception with Sir Elton John and Billy Joel prior to their “Face 2 Face” concert Monday night at the Arena. Only one problem â€" Peyton didn’t have a ticket for the show and was therefore denied entrance to the City-owned building by SMG staff.

yes it was...I rode by on my bike before the event to see the "interesting" people...apparently the bar/restaurant will only be open when there is an event at the Arena, baseball grounds, stadium, or fairgroiunds.

Please, just put a strip club there in the space and get it over with!  There are not enough people downtown that will support a bar in that remote location(period). A strip club is a destination and the start of a new, classier downtown!!!

Strip club - I like it, perhaps parking at LOT Z, with a shuttle? Since the City won't let anyone park along APR. Perhaps we can ship in some nice talent from Memphis, Atlanta or Tampa. Leave the skanks at the local bars.
