Well... I wouldn't go out of my way,to make fun of their beliefs.   At least two times in my life , we were supposed to witness the "end of the world" .

IMO  it doesn't matter when..  :)  If its next month.. guess I wont have to pay bills anymore ;)

Garden guy

Jesus has been "coming" back since a week after he left....i wish he'd hurry up already...i'm tired of listening to his followers..

The big day is here on Saturday.....  I don't believe any of these guys.  No man knows when the day will come.

QuoteNo one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage... and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away... Matt. 24:36-39

Last Saturday rain... this Saturday the end of the world... we can't freekin win... >:(
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Well, at least that takes the pressure off of the NFL players and owners, eh?

My wife and I had a conversation about this last night.  End-of-the-world eschatology has always morbidly fascinated me.

Harold Camping, in particular, is just the latest in a long, long line of end-times parrots who has said "the end of the world is happening on x-date" only to say "oops, I did my math wrong" after nothing happened on x-date.  He's already done it.

He joins the likes of Pat Robertson, Hal Lindsey (who makes me twitch, BTW), a Pope, William Miller, even Charles Manson.

It's fascinating to watch the people who buy into this go ape-shizz.

Incidentally, have you seen the revisions and resulting contradictions in the work of Stephen Hawkings, going back to the very beginning of his career?

Yep! I just read his latest book, The Grand Design. It is pretty much of a book that saying "F*** off!" to any religions. Stephen Hawkings and his heart has gone cold. I think I know why.... the last divorce of his ex-wife pushed him to the edge.

-Josh

So, you believe atheists have "cold hearts"?

Ohhh I didn't see this.

No, I do not think atheists have "cold hearts". I never mentioned anything like that. I only referred to Stephen Hawking's perspective and ideology through his new book.

For the other part of this thread:

Someone at one of the events where the meeting to talk about the May 21st's end of world, screamed out, "What time zone?!"

"When I take over JTA, the PCT'S will become artificial reefs and thus serve a REAL purpose. - OCKLAWAHA"

"Stephen intends on running for office in the next election (2014)." - Stephen Dare

According to Harold Camping, it'll go "time zone by time zone."

Convenient, no?

You mean I'm going to taken up to heaven NAKED!  Horrors!

And you have a wicked sense of humor.

There was a big group of the FamilyRadio people in front of the Cathedral in St. Augustine this past Wednesday haranguing the tourists and passing out leaflets.  The looks on the faces of the passersby would have made a great video too.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Do you think we will be able to get past noon tomorrow I want to see my little boys soccer game.  At least we get beer fest tonight.

So May 21st is the New Y2K, and the countdown is on to Saturday’s beauteous rapture.

One entrepreneurial atheist group known as “Eternal Earth-Bound Pets” is offering to adopt your pet when you head to Heaven…for a nonrefundable small fee, of course. But in what other ways can people have fun at the expense of Harold Camping and FamilyRadio?

and...

For a mere $135, $20 each additional pet â€" due in advance, naturally â€" they will pick up the pooch and care for him or her after you’ve been swept up.

Oh, and in case the prophesy turns out to be off by, oh, a millennium or two, or you have an overblown sense of your own piety and get left behind with the rest of the sinners, sorry, no refunds.

-NBC

They'll give you your pet back, but not your money.

Love it.
