Run, with your hearts in your hands, and place them on 342 West 10th Street.  If you lose your heart, SOS will make another.

Red Hearts, Golden Hearts, all hearts.  Stake 'em, nail 'em, glue 'em.  Just do 'em.

Take them off your house to save another.

Calling All Hearts!!!

I am going to make my own heart this weekend, and maybe Timkin and I will fly over there to stake the hearts in it.

I'll be planting mine tomorrow.  They are coming in from all over the neighborhood.

And I'm getting PM's requesting more...

This plex is beautiful.  Strong.  Sturdy.  We will find a buyer yet!!!

Springfield Chicken

You said you'll find a buyer?  I wasn't aware it's on the market.  Is it?  How much?

iloveionia

It's Springfield. Everythngs for sale!! I've spoken to the owner several times. Tried to hunt down the people with money. Made 4 contacts.  May get lucky with one. The potential buyer will talk with the owner today.

Same here, Josh.  I have to make mine this weekend..then we will haul over there ..This one definitely needs to be spared.

iloveionia

I am not confident about a buyer, hopeful. I believe it's the only thing that can spare the house. With "thanks" to an absentee owner and adversarial city system the case file on this house is a mess. The house, however should not be demolished. Ridiculous.

How much would he take for it?

Houses needing renovation are a hard sell in the current market.  How much Ionia?

Timkin

Seems like if the owner does not want to maintain the property or get a bill for demolishing ,that they would relinquish their interest in it , to a party would would fix it up.  Whatever the asking price...I bet demoing it would cost more.

This is definitely one to at least mothball... no need to tear it down.. that is ridiculous.

iloveionia

The owner gas not been responsible and is not interested in preservation. This is what he said: $12k purchase price, buyer pays back taxes (think it's $12k), buyer settles MCCD admin fines (should be able to settle for $1,500)

He told me he'd sell the lot after demo, I said I don't want a lot, I want a house on a lot. I don't think he understood that there would be a demolition lien in addition to all the other money owed.

I was pleased he called me back as he has ignored everyone else.

I did not ask about donating. We had a good conversation but the "vibe" to ask/suggest was not there.
