Did anyone know about this or attend
September 16-20 Southeast U.S Boat Week
Jacksonville Fl. Jacksonville Landing
Looks more like a vendors boat show than a boat week.
It doesn't look like they are promoting it very much.
I'm into the boating seen I didn't even know about it. ???

OK who ever is in charge of promoting Jacksonville events FYI
The next Boat show is scheduled for April 15, 16, 17 2011. I have not found out when the 2011 poker run dates are but last year was June 3,4,5,6 2010, here's a novel Idea how about holding these events at the same time and contact all the other local boat clubs and organizations and make it a true 7 day boat week instead of a half a--ed vendor boat show.

Here's is a sight about Jacksonville boating, Its very boring. The powers that be need to put something together that has some excitement in it.

All of these organizations need to talk to each other

I think the show will be smaller than it was for quite a while. Many boat sellers are keeping lower inventories during this slow period. I went to Cruise N 2 on Arlington Expressway and was surprised at the space in the yard. Not many boats. But dealers that down size to the market conditions will be there after the recession..........recovery.......whatever this is.

I don't ever think the show here will be anything like the Ft Lauderdale show or Miami Boat shows.

If anyone else knows of a boating event just post it and i will add it to the list

The Landing is partnering with a boat dealer to promote boaters coming to the free Friday night concerts.

Yeah, promoters weren't really on top of it.  It was just one dealer that had a few models tied up on the floating docks and were there to answer questions... they were camped outside of Hooters.  Wasn't really a big deal.

Let's not forget the little boats. They'll likely out fish the fancy inshore boats anyway.

The February Jacksonville Show conflicts with the acknowledged superior Miami Boat Show.

Local Jacksonville Shows and related promotion is typically undertaken by either the Jacksonville Marine Association or Jimmy Hill outside of the Association. It's a see-saw effect coupled with many new shows emerging regionally in the midst of a general recognition that there are too many shows.

Show Management, the mega Miami and Lauderdale Boat Show proprietor cancelled plans for a show venue in St.Augustine.
St.Augustine was clearly second choice to a Downtown Jacksonville location however Show Management was unable to come to terms with Jimmy Hill.(The reference to Hill's show as "International" is of no relation to Miami and Lauderdale shows)

Some area marine dealers such as Marine Max conduct their own events.See too www.jacksonvillemarinamile.com and the emerging 7 day a week "Floating Showroom" approach per Lambs yacht center and Marine Max.

Considering the substantial area shows long in place, sporadic Downtown Landing shows are a hard sell to area marine dealers.
Collectively Marina Mile dealers and members could host a Marine Mile Show & River Fest-again a hard sell.

On the boat manufacturing side we will see regional showrooms displaying a full range of inventory. No need to go to Miami or Ft.Lauderdale to see everything in the brochure.
