sometimes karma just steps in, like last night.  i am sure that mr. gomer is busy working on a "story" for the missus from the rutherford inn right now.  how exactly does one explain having the snot beat out of you while being maced at 2am at the shell station that is nowhere close to where you live?  oh yea, and the whole car in impound totally trashed after you try to drive away but take out half of the whole "historic retention wall"/sidewalk while attempting to drive under the influence of mace.  (public service announcement - mace 101 - don't rub the eyes!!)  long story short - life as a john is rough, it's even rougher if you are stupid.

Whoa! Is it possible to get the whole story one this one? Sounds pretty funny.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

BTW I have not observed a hooker on walnut in over a year and I don't think it was female.
I did see one on Market About 6 months ago and I persuaded it not to come back.

You must not be looking hard enough.. A month or so ago there was one I'd been noticing coming from the lower numbered streets towards 8th.. She/ it was coming out really early though, like around 6 or 7. She/it has either moved or adjusted her/it schedule to match the others. I haven't seen her/it in a little while..
Yankees suck!! Yankees suck!! Yankees suck!!

Gee..............makes me wonder how they/she/he  or it was missed by the all seeing eye's? Does the executive directors office face Main Street?

Today is the first time I have seen a hooker on Main Street during the day in 5 years.

Theres nothing on main to keep the visual imprinting unfriendly to hooker trade.

It was right across the Street from the SPAR offices.
this is soooo exciting.  we have been working with the heho's, trying to introduce a new business model to them, perhaps seeing if they can get unionized and maybe some health insurance.  the new marketing slogan is "JUST DO IT.......on Main Street"  it is really a much better area, Krystal provides a more balanced diet for them than the expired SPAM that the Shell offers, there is the 24/7 weave place for those last minute re-weave problems, and best of all, they have promised not to wash any cars.  it really is a win win for all. don't you think?

You guys in Hampsterdam get the block of the year award.... this Hampstercam has been even more of an eye opener...

Ok so someone mentioned the license plates... and posting them on a billboard... so I thought, why don't the hehos put up one of those deli-counter style "Now Serving" gadgets...... that would put the numbers to good use... and then they wouldn't have to clog up the streets waiting in line.

we thought that using the health department parking lot as a staging area, using the little pagers like they use at places like the olive garden and such.  the gas they save they could use to buy snacks, we could have Eddie cater.  there are lots more ideas but that is just the beginning

Kids ....it occurred to me that maybe the City should get involved in this! I mean after all, we have a shortfall in funds, something like 58 Million Dollars short in the next Budget cycle, here would be their chance to reduce that! Whether its an area, no operating outside of, or a bldg , SPAR Council seems about the right size or maybe even license, City could get its cut for very little..............maybe you guys are not thinking quite far enough outside of the box  cindi? Just a thought!

csfoltz, sorry, we are the ones having to put up with the screaming hyena sex in our yards and the fumes from the perpetual gomer traffic - any and all proceeds made from them will stay in hamsterdam.  the city of jax and the rest of springfield can't be bothered to help us with anything else, we will return the favor.

What area of Springfield is classified as Hamsterdam? 8th St. west of Main?

AlexS

Roughly the area between 6th and 9th and Boulevard and Pearl. The reference is from a TV show called "The Wire".

Though the suggestion seems facetious, the ‘wieners with your wieners’ snack cart could actually be the best proposal here. Get a licensed hotdog cart and take turns running it up and down Hamsterdam. It fits the distracting legal activity tact that Stephen proposed, and could have other benefits. You guys are already running around all hours of the night with cameras; could a hotdog cart be that much more trouble? You might even make a little money, since the primary late-night hotdog customer is precisely the sort of person already driving through your neighborhood: guys leaving bars who have low standards and a bit of cash burning a hole in their pockets. And as for your neighbors who don’t get involved because they’re too busy getting their drunk on? Well, drunk people love hotdogs! This sounds like a fine way of coaxing them into community involvement. And a hotdog cart is portable, so you can move from hotspot to hotspot, befuddling the hehos and their customers. I can see it now: “Hamsterdam Hotdogs: come for the head, stay for the wieners!”.

Hot Dog cart makes sense to me sheclown! Best  of both worlds maybe and as "cindi" says........all proceeds could stay in Hampsterdam.............Flop House Dogs could play on both sides of the law and make a buck?
