We will be live a bit earlier tonight, probably at 11pm. Yesterday has had a lot of activity (as in supply, but actually not that much demand) which may be in part to the warmer weather. The peak time is likely again from 1am-3am (not sure how long we will cover it, but likely until 2am).

So far we are two prostitutes down (they are in Jail, one probably for quite a while). There are about 10 that we are tracking right now, 5-6 are regulars.

Other happenings in Hamsterdam the last week:

my shot up Window is replaced! $200 lets hope it will last.
we had a defensive shooting last week. An attempted robbery gone bad at the 1700 block of Perry. But it doesn't look like anybody got hit. The victim defended himself using a handgun.

notable arrest:
1600 block of Perry: lewd conduct, victim less then 16. One of the prostitutes was arrested for loitering/resisting without violence but sentenced to only 1 day. (the loitering charge was dropped and only the "resisting without violence" charge was considered)

Hamsterdamcam will be running again tonight! My forecast is for a quiet night, but well, you never know. Some of the developments this week in Hamsterdam:

- Reynaldo Blanco, the actor in the BJ video from a few weeks back was arrested and plead no-contest to "unnatural/lascivious act with another person". He will be sentenced next week and has been released until then. Go Hamsterdamcam!
- JSO presence has been impressive all last week. We had what looked like a car driving by a few times an hour. The only times I saw some of the he-hos was while talking to a JSO officer. Other then that the he-hos have stayed pretty much in the shadows.

With the warmer weather, this attention comes just at the right time. We would usually see an increase in traffic right now but seeing a decrease now may actually help with some more persistent change (I know.. I am always the optimist ).

Hana, is English your second language or third language or fourth language? You do not type like someone who understands English well. May I suggest that you look up the following words and try to understand your own posting?

BTW, I am taking a class at FSCJ to improve my English writing. I think you can benefit from such class too. There are classes at every level. Talk to a school counselor. You will be happily surprised.

i confess to a failure in my last sentence (it should begin 'despite how much i despise prostitues'--i changed my wording and failed to change it all).  otherwise, i stand by my use ov the the english language--including the way i spell 'ov', which i won't bother to justify as it always leads to arguments.

Incorrect English is incorrect. I feel sad for the English language.

I will run the camera again tonight, even though I don't expect much to happen. I only saw the usual group of he-hos out once this week, and they left "far west" on 8th street as soon as they spotted me.

If anybody knows of someone on Silver street (or anywhere in SPR) willing to share a camera feed, let me know.

i find it interesting that some think this is showing the neighborhood in a "bad light".  which is worse, showing this so the neighbors know what to look for and get a "heads up" (no pun intented) or keeping multiple armed robberies hush hush and waiting until it escalates to the point that someone gets killed?  now that is the kind of neighbor we should all have - NOT!

We've heard this before...about keeping it all quiet, so outsiders won't know what's going on, and those who wish to keep their head in the sand..happy. Well, they can pretend that nothing happens here, and they can do their best to whitewash things, but the truth is, we've had an increase in crime and I would prefer to know what the hell is happening.

^^I second that.  Sunshine is still the best disinfectant.  Hamsterdam's problems are just Peace Bubble problems that haven't moved that far east...yet.
