Only way I want MJD breaking the single game record is if he does it on 20 carries or less!  Jennings still is not a reliable backup and we need to keep MJD fresh.

A thought I had.... anybody who has any semblance of reason knows that Tim Tebow is not going to be a top-15 or even first round pick.  I, personally, would be amazed if anyone picked him before the 3rd round, but what do I know...

My thought:  What percentage of "Gator fans 1st/ Jag fan when convenient" people do you think are silently pissed off we are winning because we may fall too low in the first round and miss Tebow?  I bet it's at least 15%.  They are so myopic about Tebow they think he's gonna be in the top 10 next year and if we keep winning, we're going to blow it.

Every Gator fan I've talked with about drafting Tebow looks at me strange when I say I support drafting him, so long as every Gator fan that wants the Jags to draft him sign a 5 yr agreement to purchase season tickets.

And seriously, dude- you can't spend 40 bucks at the W-D link above to buy an upper-deck seat and hang out in the Bud Zone?  They have TV's in there if that's your thing.  If you truly can't, it's cool. But dang.

Yuppers! I do, I know Ima bad bad Wolf but I dont do it at home so :P
$40 + gas + parking + other expensses that spent when getting caught up in the game.
I go when I get corp seating on the 50 yard line on vistor's side about 2 rows up with free parking, on night games. I cant stand day games.

Edit: ok I just relized how uppty that sounded but its true lol

I truly believe under the new GM our drafting will be stellar... this years draft class is already very impressive.

I think Gene keeps control and draft's the best available player in each round in the upcoming draft.

I just hope there isn't a backlash fan reaction from not targeting and selecting Tebow. If fans can trust the the front office and Gene Smith to conduct another draft or two like this past years, we will be a consistent playoff team over the next 10 years or so.

Maybe in 5 years or so when the team is successful and the stadium is sold out, I'll be thankful for buying & keeping my season tix when I did and to not be on the waiting list  8)
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

First of all, GO JAGS!

Second of all, Dos Gatos, Jacksonville's new cocktail lounge across from the Florida Theatre, will be open at 11am on Sunday for pre-game partying. You can park in the giant lot next door for free and walk the few blocks to the game. It's going to be a beautiful day...

If you don't have tix, come and watch Sunday football with us. It'll be more fun than sitting at home and we'll have some great specials to match...

That's what I've been telling myself.  We did indeed have a waiting list not that long ago (2006), and when we get back to that I won't be able to buy just single-game tickets for the games I can make it to from Virginia...

The draft class this year was amazing, and is probably the best in the NFL as far as production goes. As happy as I am with it, I will not set myself up to think every draft class will be this successful, but if Gene Smith keeps it up, we should be fine. We have 6-7 rookies producing this year, I'll take 3-4 next year. To think we will have 6-7 every year is crazy. But the youth of this team has me excited and I have said in other threads on here, I will keep getting my tickets every year because once we start selling out every year it will be impossible to get tickets for the price I pay now, especially when the economy rebounds.

It's unbelievably rare for a draft class to produce like this.  Not just the quality but the number of players who are already contributing and have the potential to do much more.  It's pretty unusual even for every draftee to make a team's roster in his first year.  Not even in 1995 with our expansion team did that happen.

Vic Ketchman remarked that he hadn't covered a draft this good since that of the 1974 Steelers.  To put that in perspective, that team took Swann, Stallworth, Webster, and Lambert in the first five rounds (though they got nothing out of their later round picks--the draft went 17 rounds then).  And Vic also covered an excellent '87 Steeler draft that included Rod Woodson, Hardy Nickerson, Greg Lloyd, and a couple of other guys who started in Pittsburgh's defensive backfield for at least a few years.

I'm just amazed at the depth of the quality picks in this draft, to be snagging guys like Dillard and Thomas and Miller in the 4th-6th.  I was a Broncos fan before the Jaguars came along and it was a miracle if the Broncos didn't call it a draft after about round 3--shoot, one year the first round pick (Ted Gregory) didn't make the team!

Wow 46K is weak for a team that is in the wildcard hunt right now. I can't believe people will not support this team and buy tickets.

It's gonna take awhile before we can fill the stands again, hopefully we can at least fill it up for the colts games. That's why I will be rooting for the Colts until they play us. A win over them and the Pats would help to maybe sell out the Cleveland game

46k isn't good, but it's not the final figure.  Tickets distributed were just under 47k for Arizona, over 49k for Tennessee, just over 42k for St. Louis, and 45.5k for Kansas City.  We can't expect 21k ticket sales in a week just because the team is hot, but it's not unreasonable to expect several thousand more to sell, as happened immediately prior to the Tennessee game (as well as the playoff-chase games in 2007--Carolina, Oakland, and San Diego sold very strongly in the last few days prior to each of those games).

If I'm not mistaken, this game was in the weaker-selling of the two half-packs along with Arizona and St. Louis.  The fact that it's already ahead of the KC and St. Louis games in sales, and just under Arizona, suggests we ought to at least get into the low 50s.
