...or do you just want a date?

(Someone is messing with your site.)

PorchCats

Yup... looks like the site is hacked.  I don't have Erick's number, but I'm asking around.

Thanks.  I don't have his number either.

Not having much luck. But I did notice some progress. The site presents just a blank page, at the moment.

How so, it's a forum in which people are exchanging information...It's not a chit-chatting forum, which is something I miss from the old spar forum...but there is information exchanged...so what is it that's not meeting your standards? Just curious....  ???

my ideas ov what springfield whould be are basically 20 years out ov date:  i miss springfield as a comfortable, low-income neighbourhood where noöne jumped up anyöne's butt about their lawn not beïng done.  i miss people buying houses and restoring them because they genuinely love the architecture, not because they've got their eye on the property value.  i miss businesses coming and goïng according to actual demand for the business rather than whether or not the business owners had satisfactorily spit-polished SPAR members' butts.  i even miss having drug dealers around, because they looked out for me far better than the cops ever will--and they didn't look at me funny like the cops do, either (well, sometimes they did--but when one is wearing thick black eye shadow and a full-length skirt at 14, one must expect such things).  springfield is becoming a bastion ov privilege, and it's already happened to a far greater extent than i'm comfortable with--the myspringfield forum consists primarily ov expressions ov this (seriously, springfield mommies' group?  what?  mothers have been pooling resources since time immemorial, but a name like that conjures images ov disney happy family stickers and triple decker SUV-inspired strollers the price ov a small car).  were i to amble onto it and speak my mind, i would be considered a troll at best.

You're kidding, you honestely miss living in a ghetto, with drug dealers and whores all over the place? Wow...I'm not even sure what to say about that. I understand the issues with spar, but it seems that you don't like any improvements to the area, and would prefer to see it as the run down, crime filled dump it was 10-15 years ago.

What's wrong with there being a mommies group? Geez, these women have done some wonderful things for the kids in the neighborhood, and for others as well. If the name of the group brings to mind, Disney and other child-parent related images...well, that's what it's all about...kids and parents.

As for the restoration of the old houses...I would say that most have been done as a result of people who have worked hard, sunk a great deal of their money and time into their home. Most aren't owned by outsiders, and the people actually live in the houses they've restored and turned back into homes. Granted, there's was a big rush with investors, but even many of those turned out nicely and are often sold to people who want to be here.

Now as to you speaking up about what you really would like to say, and people taking you as a troll....with all due respect, anyone that would prefer blight and crime over restoration and families...just wouldn't be taken seriously....so with that in mind, you're right...troll would most likely come to mind.

i 'honestely miss' real people, however disreputable, when compared to the fake plastic smiling things i see in the neighbourhood today.  and while many ov the homes are owned by the people who live in them, that's only because they were flipped several years ago--and some developers are so daft they're still tryïng to do it!  a house very close to me was bought for a song last year, quickly renovated, and is now sitting empty while the owner tries to sell for considerably more than it's worth.

and my issue with the mommies group isn't anything to do with the actual 'parent-child' thing--god knows we need more actual parent-child stuff, instead ov everyöne letting the TV and the little league coach raise their children--my issue with it is that children have become status symbols, a flaunting ov affluence and disposable income.

in springfield as it was when i was growing up, one knew who to avoid and who was alright--even the dishonest had telltale markings.  now people smile in your face and then turn around and call code enforcement because you missed mowing your lawn last weekend.

So you would rather have drug dealers then to mow your yard weekly? :P You lazy boi

I wasn't going to respond, and I'm not sure why I will bother to do so now...however, it's the attitude and mindset expressed, are what can keep a neighborhood from flourishing. I'm thankful, that in spite of irresponsible and ignorant attitudes such as what has been expressed are no longer the norm for Springfield.

I've seen this area transform from a drug, crime infested dump into a lovely, family oriented neighborhood. I've seen how the collaboration and determination of neighbors working together, have helped to rid the streets of those who could care less about their properties and turned it into a welcoming neighborhood.

I have neighbors that range from very well to do, to those who are not so financially well off...and all of us have the same goal...a safe, clean and decent neighborhood. We help one another, and if someone is unable to mow, we have mowed for them. Code enforcement is used to motivate those who don't care how overgrown their yard has become, not for missing a week of mowing.

As for those scum bags that will steal from you, who deal drugs, who sell their body for a few bucks...these people (and I use that term lightly) are nothing more than a cancer that eats away at a decent neighborhood...the only telltale sign I'd like, is seeing them gone.

Wow! I did not know Children were status symbols! I should have a couple of litters with different genetic origin. They would be so messed up that they would be proud of not able to write English language, or any language at all. They would be so insecure that they would want to have drug dealers and other criminals around so they can feel they were superior to someone else.
BTW, the house you mentioned, was it vacant or occupied before the investor brought it?
