Jaguars must still sell more than 13,000 tickets to avoid blackouts

One of the team's rookies from last year, Don Carey, was accepted into Yale but was unable to secure the financial aid so he ended up at Norfolk State.

Don Carey's middle name is Juan, which is also awesome.  As is the fact that he's from southeast Virginia, but I'm naturally biased on that point.  :)

Club Seat sales/season tickets are NOT included in this count - correct?

Correct.  Club seats do not count toward the blackout number and are not being tracked in the fuel gauge.  General bowl seating only.

This is count is referring to season tickets and club seats are not being counted because they do not effect the blackout number.  Right now, it's pretty simple.  We need to sell 15,123 general bowl seats to lift blackouts.  WW has said the team is expecting 8,000 group season tickets with the latest update showing 1,675 group tix sold.  8000-1675 = 6325 more group season tickets to be knocked off the 15,123 left to sell.  Leaving us with 8,798 more season tickets to be sold to avoid blackouts.  16 weeks left till the season starts means 8,798 / 16 = approximately 550/per week need to be sold.  This of course is without factoring single game or possible half pack tickets.  The goal is to have the blackouts lifted with season tickets obviously.  Given the strides made so far with this being the most new season ticket accounts in an off-season since the franchises inception and the renewal rate now exceeding 85%, I would say things are looking way up.  And all of this is being done without us drafting Tebow.  550/week is not totally unfeasible btw, especially when you look at the month of April's sales.  Also July it typically the highest month for ticket sales based off of seasons past.

Although the club seat pace & amount sold is pretty bleak. Those seats are just as important as the total price goes all to the home team.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Do you have a place to get the numbers on that?  I know Vic said he was concerned but that's all I've seen.

Thats great to hear, I would like to go to a few games this season myself. I would really like to see the stadium roaring again. Hopefully our Jags can pull off their part and we will all be happy.

I read that from Vic as well.  Club seats are huge for the team's revenue string and long term viability, but first and foremost, we need a sold out general bowl and getting this team back on TV.

If I understand correctly, the short-term goal is to shore up the general bowl and get it sold.  Next will be hitting up the premium seating (clubs, suites, etc.).  Team Teal/TD Jax and the Jaguars marketing efforts aren't going to just dry up once the blackout number is reached.

Jaguars recently lowered the price of some club sections on the East Club (visitors' side) as well.

That's exactly what I've been led to believe.  And hopefully the "naysayers" will understand that this problem may not be fixed in one offseason.  The loss of 17,000 season ticket holders from the year before is huge.  If we can get this blackout number to a manageable level for single game sales (2,000 range) and get most of these games on TV then I would say this Team Teal "grassroots' campaign has been a success.  I know Team Teal was implemented as a long term measure as well.  Just know the ticket situation must be looked at in a "Rome wasn't built overnight" fashion, but I am very confident in saying the marketing is working and the people of Jacksonville are proving ticket by ticket that they want this team to stay.

Although individual games/half packs are not on sale to the general public for a couple of months, I do know that they have begun selling single games to some of the larger companies in town (group discount/subsidized?) - so if you can only go to a handful of games, you may want to hit up a buddy at Blue Cross, Citi, etc. for some of the premiums like Tebow Day, the Colts game, & the Monday night game.

Tebow Day, har har.

Yeah those three games are certainly going to be packed. You will be surprised how many Broncos fans you will see September 12th. Completely fine, because they buy tickets.

Group tickets are on sale now.  I think that's for purchasing any bloc of 10 or more tickets for a single game.  It's not just for corporations, because I was able to buy a bloc of 10 for a game.
